ASD schools strive to be safe, welcoming and respectful. Research shows strong school environments increase academic achievement. Overall, parents say their children attend schools that are supportive, inviting and offer a good education. Here are just a few results from the district’s annual School Climate and Connectedness Survey to parents about their child’s school.

HUGSSH.U.G.S.S. & Coats for Kids
The HUGSS school supply drive has already concluded for the 2007-08 school year. If parents missed the event and need school supplies or would like to donate items, please contact Barb Dexter with ASD's Child in Transition/ Homeless Project at 907-742-3834.

Child Check
Child Check is a free program for children who are younger than kindergarten age. They check children's movement, hearing, speech, and thinking skills to find out if there are any concerns. If concerns are found, they assist parents in obtaining the help their children need. If you think your child might have a problem with learning or development, call Child Check at 907-742-2655 for a screening appointment.
