Dear parents and families,
The last day of school is just a few days away. As I look back on the past year, I want to thank you all for helping make it a success.
Our schools are making good progress thanks to great support from parents and families. Educators and support staff are using data and results to drive decisions and deliver high quality instruction. More students are taking upper level, rigorous courses. Our vocational and technical classes are preparing a record number of students for careers and the workforce. Staff is focusing on customer service so parents and the community have the best possible experience at our schools.
The end of the school year is always a fun and exciting time for children. Please help us ensure that every student, from kindergarten through high school, has a safe and happy last day of school. Encourage your children to be on their best behavior and caution them against misbehavior such as harassing younger students or throwing trash. Along with many parents and police, we’ll be keeping a close eye on schools and buses in the closing days of school to ensure that every student has a safe and positive end of the year.
Again, thank you and your children for an outstanding school year. We look forward to seeing you again soon, whether at summer school or in August for the start of the 2008-09 school year.
