Including Gifted Needs in Today’s Education
The IGNITE Program is a pull-out program for gifted students who have met the eligibility criteria under the State Gifted education plan. The program is available to students in second through sixth grades. The IGNITE Program offers enrichment opportunities that incorporate universal themes with classroom learning in alignment with the district's standards and goals. The IGNITE teachers may be working with students from as many as seven schools at one time with multiple grade levels represented in each class section. Each certified gifted student receives 2-3 hours per week of gifted services. There are 24 service schools and transportation is provided for students to attend IGNITE at sites other than their home school.
