Hello. I am a born and raised Alaskan who grew up in both Anchorage and Eagle River, Alaska. I graduated from Chugiak High School and am thrilled to be back teaching at such a wonderful school. The community at Chugiak is remarkable. Both teachers and students try hard to create a peaceful, fun, and comfortable environment. I graduated from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. The campus and community were very small, allowing for a very comfortable environment. I never saw or smelled so many cows in my life though. I did my student teaching at Clark Middle School, which was a very rewarding experience. Working with such a diverse community of students really helped open my eyes to the unique qualities each student possesses. Currently, I am in my 12th year of teaching at Chugiak. I crave new experiences, so I continue to try new activities. Although it was three summers ago, I'm still living off of the memories of my trip to Europe. I took a 30 day trip through England, France, Italy, and Greece. It was a truly remarkable and memorable experience. This summer I spent most of my waking moments wandering the wilds of Alaska taking pictures with my amazing new camera. Several excursions to Eklutna, Beach Lake, Eagle River Nature Center, and Seward occurred. It was a nice way to combine exercise, adventure, and art. I also took a six week art class where I dabbled in drawing, water color, and sculpture. Except for the 6 am wake up call, I loved every moment. My most exciting adventure was late in the summer! I went paragliding at Alyeska. I recommend jumping off of a mountain to anyone who asks. I look forward to sharing my travel stories and outdoor adventures with you.
Grades will be available from the new Zangle interface shortly. The district is hoping to have it available some time in September.
