While I am new to the Educational Technology Dept., Spring 2007 marks my 27th year of employment with the Anchorage School District.

As an EdTech Computer Support Technician I work collaboratively with Educational Technology Teachers, School Building Technology Contacts (BTC's) and IT personnel in determining the inclusion, preparation and configuration of various software applications for instructional use. Specifically, this is the process of building and cloning a 'master computer' and the restoration of disk images locally or across the network.

In the support of operating systems and applications for the Apple Macintosh environment, my typical work day involves:

Perform ongoing testing and evaluation of updates for network applications, operating systems, third party plug-ins/players, and hardware.
- Create, deploy, update, maintain and troubleshoot school’s Apple computer disk images.
  - Configure relevant server processes for mass image deployment.
    - Communicate with vendor technical support to determine hardware and software compatibility.
