Welcome to Family & Consumer Science(FCS). Today's FCS classes are designed to give students the skills they
need to live independantly. Career exploration and work related skills are utilized to reinforce the curriculm
applications. Students will develop employability skills that include communication; cooperative learning; amd problem
solving. The Anchorage School District offers courses in Food Science, Foods and Nutrition, Textiles, Child Development,
Adult Roles and Responsibilities and the ProStart Culinary Arts. Students enrolled in FCS courses will also have an opportunity
to be part of FCCLA a national student leadership organization that focuses on career preparation, family and community service.
Grades will be available on Zangle near the end of September.
