Greetings and welcome! I'm glad you're visiting my home page to learn more about my English/reading focus classes, as well as West High's English/ reading course offerings this year. If you'd like to know more about the course content of the classes I teach, please click on the course title on the top right of this screen.

Besides teaching these classes, I also serve as West High's literacy coordinator and work with the administration, faculty and staff so that we can offer our students a comprehensive literacy program. West High School offers six reading and writing support classes to over one hundred 9th through 12th grade students. The reading and writing support teachers use a variety of effective strategies, leveled readers, differentiated instruction, and online technology programs, such as Fast ForWord, a neuroscientifically based language program, and READ 180, a comprehensive, differentiated literacy program. Our goal is to enhance our students' reading and writing levels so they earn credits towards graduation and score proficient on the High School Graduation Qualifying Exit (HSGQE) Exam in order to graduate high school.
