Welcome to the new school year. I'm excited about this year's curriculum, and I look forward to creating a dynamic classroom that encourages students to read and write and discuss their ideas. The class will help students prepare both for IB assessments and AP exams. I will try to use this page for the posting of assignments, mainly for those students who missed class due to an excused absence. However, time constraints may not allow me to include all assignments, and I certainly won't be able to present the assignments on this website with the same detail and thoroughness with which I present them in class. In other words, the website is in no way a substitute for attending and paying attention in class. I will also try to notify and remind students of deadlines for major assignments and will make periodic updates regarding curriculum and important events. I want to emphasize the importance of students' independence of thought. I strongly discourage the use of outside texts, including the internet, as a substitute for reading the texts in our curriculum.
