I work students in a variety of settings both in the computer lab and in classrooms. Willow Crest boasts a high student/computer ratio throughout the building that allows extreme flexibility in how and where I meet with students.
This Spring many 3-6 grade students will be participating in a math pilot using either MathWhizz or iSucceed. Another program some students will be using is Lexia Reading. I am very exited about how these programs will help our students increase their reading and math proficiencies.
Many students also use Skills Alaska to gain remediation and skill building in the areas of reading, writing, and math. Students may log in to this site anytime: Skills Alaska and complete lessons that I or their classroom teacher may have assigned. Also, I encourage parents to register at: Soar At Home so you and your child may receive information and lessons that will help your child improve.
I also promote higher order and critical thinking skills among all students using a variety of resources that are integrated across the curriculum. It's my intent to equip and empower all Willow Crest students to be life long learners who can successfully navigate and express themselves through technological means. The 21st Century demands technological literacy!
