|You are here: LINDA LIST|
Welcome to the Health and Social and Emotional Learning page. My name is Linda LIst and I have been a teacher with ASD 13 years; all of those years I have been with Chugiak Elementary. I began teaching Health/SEL in 2007 and at that time I split my teaching between Chugiak and Birchwood ABC Elementary. About the curriculum: The entire district uses the Great Body Shop for it's Health/SEL curriculum. Here is a link on this site that will take you to the page where you can find more information on the types of topics and our scope and sequence for each grade level: http://www.asdk12.org/depts/HealthPE/health/GBS/index.asp About myself: My degree is in Health and Physical Education from UAA. I taught PE here at Chugiak my first 5 years of teaching. I have 3 beautiful children who are now ages 6, 7 and 9; so I am very busy when I get home! I love hiking and camping and swimming. I coached swimming and taught swimming lessons for 11 years with Northern Lights Swim Club, Kachemak Swim Club and Homer High School. I also love traveling to warmer climates when possible! My area of expertise is Atypical Brain Development. I love to study how different minds learn and process. I also spend a lot of time learning how to use nutrition to feed the brain and fuel learning. I am also a Building FASD Coordinator which means I am available to consult with staff on meeting the needs of children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and to create classroom environments to facilitate success for children with emotional differences.
