Welcome, This course is designed to assist the first year cadet in accomplishing the following goals: (1) Understand the mission, goals, and opportunities available as a member of the NJROTC program. (2) Understand the basic principles of leadership, which combined with the many opportunities for practical experience in the NJROTC program will prepare them for leadership roles in school upon graduation. (3) Develop an understanding of our nation, our values, traditions, heritage, and respect for our laws. (4) To become informed and responsible citizens. (5) Be introduced to the various types of ships and aircraft of the US Navy. (6) Master basic drill principles. (7) Understand the Core Values of the US Navy (8) Understand the history and background of Veterans Day (9) Understand the basic principles of Flag Etiquette (10) Demonstrate the ability to perform physical fitness exercises correctly. (11) Demonstrate the wearing of the NJROTC uniform and the uniform standards. (12) Undergo training in Marksmanship and the safe handling of an air rifle.
