Hello and Welcome to the 2008--2009 school year.

Students have a Notebook Check Cover Sheet where they should keep a list of all recorded assignments.
This sheet has the possible points and the points they earn on each assignment. We update the sheet every
three or four days.

Please hold your son or daugther responsible for that sheet. Please review it with them for completed and
upcoming assignments, current class grade.

Alaska Studies classes have no textbook that they will be able to bring home. All assignments are completed in class.
Good attendance in this class is Needed. Students need to come in at lunch or after school to make up any missed
work. When a student is absent they are not excused from any assignments they are merely behind and need to come
in and catch up with the class. All students need to complete a semester project, a visit to the Native Heritage Center
or the Anchorage Museum. All Students are to be in class on school arranged Final Exam days. Final Exam must
be completed in order to receive a passing grade. Final Exams are not given early. See the Curriculm Principal
if you need to take the Final at a later date.

The American Anthem is the new textbook for the U S History class. Each student has signed their name for a book.
Their assigned textbook should be covered, it is to be with them daily as they enter this classroom. They are to take
good care of their book. Books that are not returned, lost, misplaced, or abused are subject to a fee of $ 125.00.

Progress reports are printed and issued to each student every four weeks. Students may ask for a drag sheet
where they can get a weekly grade from each teacher.

All students are to read the newspaper and watch the daily news. It is an important part of all my classes.

I look forward to working with you and helping your son or daughter be successful in their history class this year.
