Hello! Welcome to Music at Creekside Park!!
We have lots of fun in music with singing, listening, dancing and moving, playing instruments, learning theory and notation, composing and creating. We start recorders and ukes in the 3rd grade.
Guitars, and tone chimes are used by the 4th and 5th graders. I am beginning keyboards in third grade. Everyone uses drums, rhythm instruments, Orff xylophones, hand bells, and a
few other interesting instruments. Intermediate Choir is open to 3rd through 5th grades, Primary Choir is K-2nd. 5th grade students can try out for Anchorage 5th/6th Honor Choir.
We will participate in the Choral Jubilee this year.
Our activities integrate with other subjects, meet the National, State, and Anchorage content standards, and allow for some personal expression through music.
For the Fall 2016 semester I will be joined in the classroom by student teaching intern Roger David from UAA!
Hello Creekside! I'm a grad student at UAA working on my Masters of Arts in Teaching. I feel lucky to be at such a wonderful and supportive school working with amazing students and a great mentor in Mrs. Morrison. I am a
product of the Anchorage School District and plan on teaching music in the ASD once I complete my program! I believe in teaching students to be well rounded musicians who are exposed to many instruments and different
genres of world music. Go Huskies!
