Reading *WEIRD Homework (Monday-Thursday)-Choose your own strategy -Students will choose a different strategy for each night.
*Houghton Mifflin 5th Grade Selection- The Grizzly Bear Family Book -Comprehension Focus: Making Generalizations -Students will analyze and evaluate the validity of generalizations. -Friday, February 10: Making Generalizations Test
6th Grade Selection- A Kind of Grace -Comprehension Focus: Propaganda -Students will identify persuasive techniques commonly used in propaganda, and identify propaganda in text. -Friday, February 10: Propaganda Test
Writing *Friday, February 10: Daily Language Quiz -Study green daily language sheet -Focus your studying on the emphasized questions
*Myth rough drafts are complete -Students will be using Comic Life on the computer to create their final drafts -This assignment will take a few lab sessions to complete
*Color Code Persuasive Essay (due by Thursday)
*Students will also be preparing for their speeches -They may use note cards, or print and cut out sections of their essay *Friday, February 10: Persuasive Speeches will start
