Language Arts *WEIRD Homework (Monday-Thursday)-Choose your own strategy -Students will choose a different strategy for each night.
*The Giver -Last week we read through chapter 12 of Lois Lowry’s dystopian novel The Giver. -If your child is absent, or falls behind, they may check out the book in order to get caught up on their reading. *Wednesday, May 10: The Giver quiz chapters 11-15 (with an essay question)
*Movie Trailers using iPads -Last week students worked in groups with iPads creating movie trailers. The assignment was to combine their utopian paragraphs with their partners, and create a movie about what happens when their societies meet. I have been very impressed with the creativity, teamwork, problem solving, and responsibilities of ALL the groups. The opportunity to pilot the iPads with Apple TV has been a great experience for the students and myself. We will be showing the movie trailers on Tuesday.
