Hello and Welcome to Mrs. Page's and Mrs. Bera's First Grade
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Desiree Page. I am very thrilled to be teaching First grade at Fire Lake Elementary School and to have your child in
my classroom. This will be my Fifth year teaching First Grade. I could not be more excited to be back teaching after a wonderful Alaskan summer. I graduated with a Bachelorís degree
in Elementary Education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 2007. In 2009, I graduated from Grand Canyon Universityís Distance Learning program and obtained my Master of
Arts in Teaching Degree. The Eagle-River Chugiak area is my hometown; I have lived here since I was eight years old. I enjoy having the opportunity to teach in the same community I
grew up in.
This year is going to be an amazing, fun, and memorable year filled with rewarding and empowering experiences. By joining our efforts, we will be able to develop our lessons to expand
each childís learning through large and small group instruction. This cooperative environment is a great way for your child to work with a variety of students and teaching strategies.
It is our mission to guide your child through an educational journey that creates inquisition and understanding. We believe this can be done through active learning, challenging
experiences, effective assessment, and by implementing the skills necessary for future successes. In order to meet the needs of the diverse learners in our classroom, a variety of
quality strategies will be used such as technology integration, cooperative learning, and self-evaluation. These are key tools to help your child become a life long learner.
With continual support and guidance from you and the two of us, together we can help your child reach his or her greatest potential. I strongly believe that the home school connection is
very powerful. By working as a team, we can create an educational journey your child will grow from.
If you need to contact me, I can be reached at Fire Lake from 8:15- 4:15. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may
have throughout the year. Our phone number is 742-3350. I can also be reached via email at email@example.com.
