|You are here: ASHLEY ZAK|
Hi! My name is Ashley Zak and I am so excited to be part of the Fire Lake Kindergarten team! More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your child's teacher! Itís going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures and I canít wait to see what the year has in store for us. I want to know all about you and your student, but first Iím going to tell you a few things about me.
I was born and raised in Wolverine, Michigan and I have four brothers and sisters! I have a younger sister Emily, a younger brother Justin, an older sister Kali, an older brother Jared, a whole bunch of nieces and nephews and the best two parents anyone could ask for. I LOVE them! When I graduated from High School, I moved to Bozeman, Montana to attend Montana State UniversityÖGO BOBCATS!! I majored in Elementary Education and couldnít wait to graduate and start teaching.
I am married to a wonderful man, Jonathan Zak, who is a Structural Engineer at Coffman Engineers. We have the most adorable, energetic little girl, Abigail. She is 3 years old and SO much fun to play with. She keeps me on my toes at all times. We are also planning on welcoming a new addition to our family around Thanksgiving. We couldnít be happier and Abigail is thrilled to have a little sister! To cap off our family we have a wonderful dog named Molly.
I taught Kindergarten for 3 years at Wonder Park in Anchorage and moved to Fire Lake in 2011 to teach 3rd grade. After teaching 3rd grade I moved back down to Kindergarten. This will be my 8th year teaching and I love Kindergarten because we learn SO much in such a short time!
We will have a full day of fun and learning. Every week we will be covering standards and activities in reading, math, writing, science, handwriting and social emotional learning. During the week your student will also participate in:
PE on Wednesdays and Thursdays
Library on Mondays
Music on Mondays and Fridays
Art or Health on Tuesdays
If you ever have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call or email me at school. Look for weekly newsletters in your child's homework folder as well as important information from the school. Please consider joining our wonderful PTA to be even more involved in your school. You might be surprised at how easy it is to make a difference if we all work together! I am so excited to be your child's teacher and for you to be a part of the AWESOME school family we have here at Fire Lake Elementary. This is going to be a SENSATIONAL year!!
