Welcome to Health class! My name is Megan Larson and I am teaching Health at Inlet View Elementary, Chester Valley Elementary (housed at John F. Kennedy Elementary on Ft. Richardson this year due to construction) ,
and Fairview Elementary schools. Students in Health class learn about healthy life habits, social emotional skills, and how to care for their minds and bodies to give them the best chance at a long, healthy life. Our
curriculum is The Great Body Shop. You can visit this site at www.thegreatbodyshop.org.

4-6 grade students will be bringing home an informational leaflet at the end of each unit, which is every month. K-3 grade students will use these leaflets in class and then give them back to be stored for use
next year, when they will be taken home. Kindergarten students also get a free CD of the music from The Great Body Shop! This will be given out at Fall Parent Teacher Conferences.

September: Safety and personal safety

October: Body Systems

November: Nutrition

December: Families, Dental Health, Body Systems part 2

January/February: Human Growth and Development

February/March: Illness Prevention, HIV/AIDS

March/April: Drugs

April/May: Exercise
