|You are here: DAOLUANG FARRENS|
My name is Dao Farrens and I am so excited to work together this year with you and your child in what I know will be a wonderful year of Kindergarten!
I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a degree in Elementary Education. This marks my fifth year of teaching kindergarten and I LOVE it!
-Take Home Folders: Your child's "Take Home" folder should be taken home and returned back to school the very next day. These folders will contain important information for you. I will send home a newsletter every once in a while in this folder as well, so look out for it to find out everything happening in our classroom.
-Birthdays: In our classroom, we do like to celebrate birthdays. If you would like to send or bring in a special treat please let me know ahead of time. The treat will be served during snack time.
-Reading and other fun stuff:
Reading is very important and reading at home everyday will help your child become as successful as possible. Plus itís fun! When homework is sent home I encourage you to work on it with your child but please know itís not mandatory nor something to stress over. Itís just another way to ensure your childís success in kindergarten. ☺
-Breakfast and Lunch:
Your child has the opportunity to eat breakfast at school free of cost. We ask that your child arrive at school at 8:30 so they have plenty of time to eat in the cafeteria before school starts. There will no longer be breakfast in the classroom. Lunch is also free for all students.
-Your child will come into the classroom in the morning at 8:50 and leave in the afternoon at 3:30 through my outside door by the playground. I am in room C1.
There are many ways to get involved in your childís education here at Wonder Park. A few examples:
Volunteering in the classroom, Volunteering in the library, Fieldtrips, Wonder Park PTA
Thank you so much for being involved in your childís education. I look forward to working with you and your child as we have a great year of Kindergarten. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
