Welcome to Resource at Ursa Major Elementary. My classroom is located in room 160, just past the library on the right. Here are a few facts about me: This is my 9th year working in Special Education at Ursa Major Elementary School, my time at Ursa Major has included special education preschool teacher , special education resource, primary grades, and special education department chairperson. I have 13 years of teaching experience, having also taught in an inclusion Pre K classroom, inclusion 4th grade, and substituted in every grade level in both Tennessee and Georgia prior to coming to Alaska. In December 2012, I completed a P-12th grade special education endorsement for the State Of Alaska with the University of Alaska, Southeast. I received my Master's of Early Childhood Education in 2011 from Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia and my Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education in 2002 from North Georgia College and State University, Dahlonega, Georgia. I am a current member of The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). My family and I moved here from Ft. Benning,Georgia in 2008 and we plan to stay for many years. I am a proud military spouse and I deeply enjoy working with and teaching young children.
