Internet Guidelines, Version 2.1

5 - Dial-up Access from a non-ASD Location

To be in compliance with FCC regulations regarding Universal Service Funds/E-Rate program, dial-up connections from non-ASD locations for Internet access is prohibited.  Dial-up communications to the ASD network for access to e-mail and other ASD network resources is allowed.

ASD Staff requesting a Dial-up Access account for home use should contact the ASD Help Desk.  To gain dial-up network access, the user must have a signed Anchorage School District Internet and Electronic Mail Staff Agreement form on file, a dial-up access account, an appropriate modem and VPN software.

5.1

Remote Access Guidelines

 

5.1.1

Connections can be gained by using either a Macintosh or PC. The type of computer used determines accessible network services.
  5.1.2   Acquisition, installation and configuration of all necessary hardware and software for remote access are the responsibility of the user.
  5.1.3   The sharing of ASD dial-up access accounts with non-ASD personnel is prohibited.
