What to Do When You’re Done Working

When you’re done working with your computer, you have a few options. If you’re going to be away briefly, put your computer to sleep. Sleep is a lower power mode that preserves the state the computer is working in. If you’re not going to use your computer for a while, or you need to unplug it for any reason, shut it down.

Another option is to simply log out. Choosing Log Out closes all open applications and takes you to the login window, the window that lists all the users on the computer (even if there is only one). From the login window, users select their account and enter their password, and are then taken to their customized desktop.
