Forcing an Application to Quit

Sometimes applications have problems that cause them to become unresponsive. If this happens, you can use the Force Quit command to quit the problem application. After you’ve forced the application to quit, try restarting it.

When you force an application to quit, any unsaved changes to files in that application are lost. So, use Force Quit only if there is no other way to make an application respond.

You can use Force Quit to quit Classic applications, but if you do, other Classic applications may also quit.
