Sharing Files with Others on a Network

You can set up your Mac so that others on your local network can access your computer and share files. A computer running Mac OS X allows others to connect to it even if they aren’t users of that computer (known as connecting as a guest).
 
When connected as guests, other users have access to items stored in your Public folder. They can also transfer files to your computer by placing them in your Drop Box folder (located inside the Public folder).
