Apple is constantly working to improve its software, and frequently releases updates that fix problems, improve performance, and add new features. With Mac OS X, you can check for and download these updates using the Software Update application.

By default, Software Update checks the Internet once a week for new software. You can set Software Update to check monthly, weekly, or daily. Or you can check manually anytime. One of the best things about Software Update is that while it is installing the new software, you can continue working.
