Adding Contacts to Your Address Book

If you want to use your Mac to connect with people, first you need some information about the people you want to connect with. The Mac OS X Address Book application makes it easy for you to organize and manage names, street and email addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, and more. You can even add a picture, so you’ll always have a face to put with a name.

In Mac OS X, Address Book is a central storage place for your contact information. When you enter your information in Address Book, other applications can access it. For example, if you’ve entered an email address for a contact in Address Book, when you type that person’s name in Mail, their email address automatically appears.
