With Mac OS X, you can use an input tablet in place of your mouse or keyboard. When your tablet pen (known as a stylus) is set up as a pointer, the pointer moves across the screen as you move the stylus across the tablet. To select a file or menu, you simply press the stylus on the tablet. Many computer users, especially graphics professionals, find that using a tablet gives them more control and is more comfortable than using a mouse. When you set your stylus to recognize your handwriting, you can write a document just as if you were using pen and paper. Simply turn on handwriting recognition, open the application you want to use, and then start writing on the tablet. You’ll see your writing appear onscreen, and after a few moments, you’ll see it appear in the document.
