Don’t be surprised if Microsoft Word seems to take the words right out of your mouth, so to speak. For example, before you can finish typing the date, it appears in a small yellow box. How does this work? Word stores a list of items known as the AutoText list. The AutoText list contains frequently typed words and phrases, including the date and common sayings such as “Best regards” and “Yours truly.” You can also add your own words and phrases to the list. When AutoText entries appear, all you have to do to include them in your document is press the Return key.
