Anchorage School Board hosts listening sessions about district’s financial outlook
As the Anchorage School District begins steps to look at its financial outlook for the 2015-16 school year, the Anchorage School Board is asking the community to weigh in on the process.
ASD is facing a $22.5 million shortfall next year where revenues won’t meet expected expenses due to increases in insurance, utilities, negotiated contracts and healthcare costs.
Parents, staff and community members are encouraged to share their thoughts with board members at one of the following sessions.
All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.
The feedback provided at the sessions will assist the school board in issuing guidance to the district administration on where to make reductions as it prepares a balanced budget for the 2015-16 school year.
