The ASD iSchool was awarded a $24,716.00 grant from Views on Learning, Inc. that will provide 63 Chromebook computers with protective cases and headsets, and two mobile carts for charging/storage. ASD students who do not have a computer will be able to check one out for use at home and/or in supervised afterschool lab sessions. This equipment will become an important resource to meet critical needs.
The grant was awarded to ASD by Views on Learning, Inc. (VOL), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational philanthropic organization that holds FCC Educational Broadband Service licenses in 24 markets across the United States and is based in Mishawaka, IN. Views on Learning, Inc. was established to provide Educational Broadband Service (EBS) schools with distance education opportunities and wireless internet access to improve student learning.
In addition, ASD will also receive mobile hotspots (included at no charge) to access the EBS wireless Internet spectrum. Additionally, ASD will be granted access to our Lifesize Cloud® video conferencing system.
Views on Learning, Inc. will be awarding K-12 schools, public and private, $250,000.00 in grants each school year for the purchase of technology that enhances student learning. For more information, visit the Views on Learning, Inc. web site at http://www.viewsonlearning.org
