Chester Valley on delayed start, Sept. 6

September 6, 2012

UPDATE: 2:10 p.m.

As crews are working to restore power around town, some of our facilities are reporting new outages. Schools have procedures in place to safely handle these situations and students will remain at school through their normal day.

UPDATE: 11:30 a.m.

Bowman Elementary's power has been restored.

UPDATE: 8:45 a.m.

Ptarmigan, Bowman and Chester Valley Elementary Schools are operating without power this morning. The schools do have back-up generators. Children will be safe in the school and will operate a normal school day. Water is available and hot lunches will be provided on a regular schedule.

Chester Valley is operating a delayed start this morning and will start class at 11 a.m.

ADDED: 6:30 a.m.

Chester Valley Elementary School will operate today under a delayed start. School will begin at 11 a.m.

All other schools are open and operating a normal schedule today.

We know that some families are still without power. It is up to each family to decide what is best for them and whether their child can attend school. Please call your child's school to let the office know if you choose to keep your child home.
