District hosts early enrollment opportunity for new students

Centralized location provides customer service for new-to-district families

  

The Anchorage School District is hosting an opportunity for new-to-district families to enroll their children at a central location this week. The event is customized for families with students who have never attended an ASD school.

 

Parents can enroll all students at one location and speak with ASD staff to get help in areas such as nursing services, counseling, bus transportation, community services and more. Immunizations, language interpreters and other district resources will be available.

 

Parents may enroll their children at the following times:

  • Wednesday, July 23, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 24, 4-7 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 26, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

 

Enrollment will take place at the ASD Education Center, located at 5530 E. Northern Lights Blvd.

 

      To complete enrollment, parents must bring:

  • Proof of residency
  • Transcript (middle and high school only)
  • Current official record of immunization
  • Children who are enrolling in school

 

Students who are returning to ASD schools can take advantage of online registration. Parents can register children online through their Zangle ParentConnection accounts until Aug. 8. In-person registration will still occur at the schools the week of Aug. 4. Kindergarten students are encouraged to register at their school during registration week. The registration schedule is available online at www.asdk12.org/backtoschool.
