The Anchorage School District is offering a variety of opportunities for parents to register their children for next school year.
Parents of returning ASD students can register their children online for next school year right now by using their Zangle ParentConnection accounts.
By providing an online method, parents no longer need to go to each child’s school to register them in person.
Online registration is for returning students only. If a family moves over the summer, their children can still be registered online, but proof of address will need to be provided to the school in person. Kindergarten students should register in person at their new school.
Online registration is available May 4-29 and July 22-Aug. 7 this year.
This opportunity supports the district’s Destination 2020 goal of improved operational efficiency by streamlining the registration process and allowing more time for front office staff focus resources on student and community needs.
Last year, more than 30,000 students were registered online.
Central Enrollment, an opportunity specifically for new-to-district families, allows parents to enroll all of their children at one location.
It will take place from 3-7 p.m. on July 23 and 10 am. – 2 p.m. on July 25.
This event is customized for families with students who have never attended an ASD school and families who have specialized needs. Parents can speak with ASD staff to receive assistance in areas such as nursing services, counseling, bus transportation, special education, community services and more. Immunizations, language interpreters, military support and other resources will be available.
While parents of returning students are encouraged to take advantage of online registration, schools across the district will host traditional in-person registration during the first week of August. In-person registration is open to new and returning students.
