Meal program costs are supported by federal funding
The Anchorage School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program sponsored by the USDA. The program will provide meals to all children free of charge.
The program is open to all neighborhood children age 18 and younger. Meals will be provided weekdays on a first come, first served basis at the following locations:
- Airport Heights Elementary: 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 10-20 and July 15-August 1.
- Begich Middle School: 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 10-27 and July 8-25.
In addition to the school sites, lunch will be offered at Mountain View Lions Park from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday from May 28 through August 2. No lunch will be available on July 4.
Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for everyone regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Any person who believes he or she has been discriminated against in any USDA-related activity should call (800) 795-3272. The Anchorage School District is an equal opportunity provider.
