Award is highest district honor given to employees
Four Anchorage School District employees and a team of colleagues were
chosen by a committee of peers to receive the prestigious Denali Award,
a bi-annual recognition program that honors employees who have shown
outstanding achievement, service and dedication. The winners were recognized at the January 25 board meeting.
The fall 2009 winners in each of four categories are: Certificated/Teacher - Tim Andrew, Educational Technology and Gary Joseph, Mears Middle School
Classified/Support staff - Maggie Davis, Human Resources
Administrator/Principal - Meg Marman, Turnagain Elementary School
Team - Counseling team, Begich Middle School
Supervisors have the opportunity to nominate employees each fall and
spring. Nominations often include letters of support from coworkers and
members of the community detailing why the employees are considered
outstanding in their field of work.
ASD applauds these employees, and all nominees, for their service to our students and this community. |
