ASD summer school provides passport to brighter future
Two-hundred families apply for English language learning services
Students from Minoo Minaei's ELL summer school class work on a project to help them learn English. For the first time this summer, the district was able to offer summer school for approximately 120 elementary students who have been identified as English-language learners. Nearly 3,500 elementary students in the district receive English-language services during the regular school year. Currently, 87 languages are spoken by students in the district.
Students new to America and those with limited or no English-language skills have a lot on their minds, not the least of which is how to keep up with their studies. There's a new culture to learn and friends to make too.

Learn how Summer school can be their passport to a better future.

Dimond earns Project Lead the Way certification

Program emphasizes practical application of Science, Technology, Education and Math curriculum

Dimond High School has received national certification for the Project Lead The Way program that it has been offering since 2006. Project Lead The Way offers a rigorous curriculum that allows students to apply what they are learning in math and science class to real-life engineering and technology projects.

The certification program recognizes schools that have successfully demonstrated a commitment to the quality national standards of the Pathway To Engineering program and to provide an opportunity for students to apply for college credit at PLTW affiliate Universities for selected PLTW courses.
