Alaska Native Cultural Charter School

ANCCS is open to all students in grades K-7. The school incorporates active engagement with the Alaska Native community, offering students an academic program with a school wide cultural focus. Family members and elders are an important part of every aspect of the program. Alaska Standards for Culturally Responsive Schools is used to guide the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school program.

Aquarian Charter

Aquarian's philosophy is that because all students have great potential, all students will have great achievement. Aquarian delivers an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to teaching, including performance-based thematic curriculum that uses multiple intelligences and accelerated brain-based learning. Technology, Spanish, music, art, and physical education meet the basics of reading, writing, and phonics in partnership with math and other subjects.

Eagle Academy Charter

Eagle Academy Charter offers an academically challenging program requiring mastery of performance standards before students progress. Students are grouped by achievement level rather than by grade level for math and language arts instruction. Reading is taught phonetically using the Spalding Method, and the Saxon curriculum is used for math. The school has a uniform dress code.

Family Partnership Charter

Family Partnership is an ASD charter school designed to provide parents flexibility as they customize individual learning plans (ILP's) for their children. Our families use home study, on-line courses, correspondence, small classes, private lessons, and college classes to achieve the well-rounded education they desire. ASD area schools can also be utilized on a limited basis to facilitate the individualized education all children deserve.

Frontier Charter

Designed to assist parents in their pursuit of academic excellence for their children, the governing structure supports full-time home schooling families. Services offered include comprehensive learning style evaluations for each student, in-house assistance in developing Individual Learning Plans, regular training opportunities for parents and teachers, trained staff to match student learning styles with appropriate curriculum, and regular schoolwide events that build a sense of community.

Highland Tech Charter

Highland Tech is a standards-based learning environment that promotes mastery learning across the curriculum. The Reinventing Schools Coalition (RISC) philosophy of Shared Leadership, Shared Vision, Standards-Based Instruction, and Continuous Improvement is the foundation that guides the program. Attention is placed on individual student learning needs through project-based learning that integrates technology as a key learning tool. Student voice and ownership is encouraged and expected.

Rilke Schule German School of Arts and Sciences

Rilke Schule's philosophy states that the school will provide an immersion program in the German language for students who attend the school. There is an emphasis on being responsible citizens of the community and the world. ASD curriculum is followed in all classes except German language classes. Community involvement is a major part of the school, and the local German community and the school work very closely together.
