Additional ASD principal and administrator changes for 2012-13
Several new principal and administrator assignments for the 2012-13 school year were approved recently by the administration and Anchorage School Board.
The new assignments are:
- Aurora Elementary – Debra Washington, currently principal at Klatt Elementary;
- Bowman Elementary – Patrick Freeman, currently principal at Trailside Elementary;
- Klatt Elementary – Linson Thompson, currently assistant principal at Sand Lake Elementary;
- Lake Otis Elementary – Doug Gray, currently director of Early Childhood and Elementary Special Education;
- Northwood ABC Elementary – Deanna Blazejewski, currently the special education department chair at Steller Secondary;
- Nunaka Valley Elementary – Patty Daugharty, currently assistant principal at Fairview Elementary;
- Ocean View Elementary – Heather Jones, currently a school principal in Polson, Montana;
- Rogers Park Elementary – Denise Demetree, currently assistant principal at Muldoon and North Star elementary schools; and
- Trailside Elementary - Sandra Graham, currently assistant principal at Chinook and Willow Crest elementary schools.
The new administrator positions are:
- Assessment and Evaluation executive director – Jane Stuart, currently an elementary school principal in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Elementary Special Education director - Lori Rucksdashel, currently a supervisor within the department.
- Secondary Special Education director – Jason Hlasney, currently a supervisor within the department.
- Related Services director – Cindy Higgins, currently a supervisor within the department.
- Human Resources executive director– Todd Hess, currently the director of contract administration and labor relations
Administrator positions, including the directors of Budget and Transportation, will also be announced once the positions have been filled and approved by the school board.
