August

Quyana to Cecil Purrington, fifth/sixth grade teacher at Bowman! While my son had Mr. Purrington in sixth grade and he is now a ninth-grader I have to go back and say Mr. Purrington set the stage for my son doing well in every class he has gone on to. He showed my son that teachers are friends who want to help him learn, and that gave him a whole new way of looking at school to where he likes to go to school and wants to learn new things.

At Hanshew my son was on the honor role the whole time he was there. He went through math teachers like water as he did better and better.

At Service my son has done so well that at his last IEP meeting they were talking about putting him into the honors program there. Not bad for a kid who started out in special needs and didn't even speak until he was 5.

When my son was in first grade I counted the years and knew he had a chance to have Mr. Purrington and was thrilled when it happened as I had seen the miracles he was able to do with my daughter who had him also.

Mr. Purrington cares so much about his students that he still e-mails and asks about my son.  I have often sent Mr. Purrington my son’s progress reports and he always takes the time from what I am sure is a very busy schedule to answer back.

I could only be happier if I could give this outstanding teacher the raise he so justly deserves. - Sharon D. Webb, parent

Quyana to Roberta Tognetti-Stuft at Physical Therapy! Wow, we started with Roberta when my son was three and ended when he was 18.

There were only two years in there where Roberta was not our PT. And even then I still consulted with her before doing or changing anything in his IEP.

She has put in an immeasurable amount of time to make sure that everything was accessible to my son.

She put up with his stubbornness in not wanting to do his PT work. Although this did get better as he grew older.

Don't know what we would have done without her. Thank you Roberta for being there all these years. - Louise S. Klune, parent

Quyana to Wendy Brons at Ursa Minor Elementary! Thank you Mrs. Brons for a great year at Ursa Minor! The school showed great improvement and progress this year thanks to your dedication and leadership. Your concern and commitment to the kids and parents is highly visible and will surely bring about great things for Ursa Minor and its students in the future. Looking forward to another great year! - Tina and Chris Grell, parents

Quyana to Joe Macon at Aurora Elementary! Mr. Joe is always happy and cheerful. He greets me every morning with a smile and a song. He is always willing to help out in any way. Mr. Joe always has positive interactions with students, staff and parents. It is nice to know that I will always have a smiling face to help me even if I call for help cleaning up a mess. Mr. Joe is always eager to lend a hand! Thank you for creating such an uplifting environment! - Laura Harvey, teacher

Quyana to Susan Mills at Audio-visual Services! Susan is great about helping me order AV materials and scheduling. She is always so pleasant and positive. I appreciate the great service from all the AV staff! - Patrick Ryan, teacher

Quyana to Mrs.Edwards at Ptarmigan! She is a wonderful teacher. She puts her class first. She is the best!!!!!! - Heather, parent

Quyana to Pam Borgert at Aurora Elementary! Pam always has a smile on her face and encouraging words to give no matter the situation. Pam is always willing to lend a hand with any project no matter how big or small or the amount of hours needed to complete the project. Pam often works past her workday to help other teachers at our school. She helps me when I need advice, whether it is personal or professional. She understands how our students and their families work and feel since she is a wife of a deployed spouse. If any student ever needs to talk due to the military deploying a parent, Pam always has time. When my husband is often deployed, I know I can speak with Pam and she will understand how I feel and give me her full attention. I appreciate Pam and her patience and kindness both at school and home. She really deserves a pat on the back and a huge hug! - Laura Harvey, teacher

Quyana to Penny Williams, teacher at Curriculum, Math Support! Thank you for helping to support our new staff members, finding us materials, working with all of us to better our skills and being available to us at any time that we seem to need you. Penny is positive, enthusiastic, skillful and encouraging. She has made a true difference at our school and we appreciate her! We love math! - Lindsay Henry, principal, Fire Lake

Quyana to Karen Orfitelli at Whaley! It’s time to recognize a woman who is flexible, knowledgeable and a team player! Karen has worked at Whaley a long time. She models dedication, great and interesting teaching, respect towards students and staff alike and a great sense of humor. Her understanding and modeling of team work is inspirational.

Quyana Ms. Orf for being your great self!! - Member of the community

Quyana to Tiffany Bandal at Nicholas Begich Middle School! Tiffany made my day today. She was my son's PE teacher last year and he wasn't doing so great all year. This is the 4th day of school and I got a telephone call from her today. I thought there would be a problem with one of my children, but she brightened my day by letting me know that my son has drastically improved his behavior and clothing from last year.

Thank you for calling me when there is improvement and something positive - Vanessa Walluk, parent

Quyana to Andy Holleman at Goldenview Middle School! Andy Holleman has worked and continues to work tirelessly at Goldenview Middle School to get hundreds of computers and up and running this fall. He has patiently worked with contractors as many hardware changes were made at the end of summer. He made sure teachers had working computers for the first day of school and that the office has stayed up and running. Additionally, many new Promethean boards were installed this fall and Andy was able to help make them usable even before the contractor did the final adjustments. On top of dealing with so many technology transitions this fall. I saw Andy interacting with students today and was impressed with his patience and kindness as he assisted them in resolving their problems. Andy is an asset to Goldenview and we appreciate all of his hard work! - Debbie Neil, classroom teacher

Quyana to Kelly Kass, Bruce Shelley, Jerry Fufaro, Nathan Lane, Oz Kindall and Steven Golab, at Facilities and Maintenance!
I wish to take a moment and thank these outstanding individuals for the positive environment and work they completed at Goldenview this summer. They brought us into the 21st century in our classrooms. We were the recipients of safety and technology infrastructure through the legislative and security grants, including the installation of Promethean Boards, data drops, and a new intercom system. Each of the aforementioned people we were fortunate enough to have in our building proved to be extraordinary. The process they unveiled was quality. They were sensitive to time and our needs as we prepared for the school year. I appreciate all of their efforts. I was constantly informed through e-mail and phone of progress and updates. Further, Kelly came to oversee the progress on a daily basis. Jerry Fufaro, Steven Golab, Nathan Lane and Oz Kendall were gracious and personable. They worked around our schedule and so closely with our staff we would welcome them anytime into our school. The flow of the project was seamless.  - Julie Maker, principal

Quyana to Kelly Hebert and Sharon Page at Polaris K-12! I should have sent this message a long time ago as it is well deserved....

My heartfelt thanks to Kelly and Sharon for their dedication to our young children. They have done an awesome job on my son for instilling the love of learning. I know they have done this awesome job to the other kids as well in their respective class....

Please keep up the wonderful work that you do! Quyana!! - Maria Del Rosario, parent

Quyana to Tanya Liebes at Kincaid Elementary! Thanks to kindergarten Teacher Tanya Liebes and Kincaid Elementary for a wonderful first week of kindergarten! I really appreciate how organized and welcoming you have been. The transition into kindergarten has been wonderful. I felt so good about the school and Mrs. Liebes when we met during the kindergarten assessments. You really put me at ease. I love kindergarten and, most importantly, so does my son! - Shelly Andresen, parent

Quyuna to Margorie Burr, physical education at Service High School. Mrs. Burr is both very positive and consistent. She has set a very high standard for herself and her students. She is consistent with all of the details of managing students and equipment to maintain a safe and encouraging environment. She is the pillar that we all measure ourselves against. Finally she is proactive in sharing and cooperating with the any new staff including substitutes so that the department maintains the highest standards. - Joel Rardin

Quyana to Mr. Gaskins, assistant principal at Service High! This wonderful administrator actually takes the school district’s zero tolerance for bullies to heart. My son was being spit on and having things thrown at him from behind and I would get a red faced, frustrated child when I picked him up.

I e-mailed and called Mr. Gaskins and he took it as serious as I was taking it. Then he actually did something about it and this bullying was stopped instantly, if not faster.

I know it was not easy as he had to interview other kids to get witnesses but he did the leg work and save my son a lot of stress so he could go to school and learn like he was supposed to with no fear.

A few days ago I learned from my son that there had been instances of his locker having drawings on it and Mr. Gaskins got it cleaned up and off right away. We need more administrators like him.

I could only be happier if I could give him the raise he so justly deserves. - Sharon D. Webb, parent

Quyana to Teresa Hintz at Alaska State School for Deaf and  Hard of Hearing! Teresa has always provided me with good information whenever I have asked her questions concerning my boys.

I have found her input during the IEP meetings to most beneficial.

Never have I seen her lose her calm demeanor. Even during times when I'm sure I have been driving her nuts with my obsessive questioning about things.

She is a wonderful teacher, and certainly an asset to the School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Thanks for being there during these past few years. - Louise S. Klune, parent

Quyana to James Linderman at Ursa Minor Elementary! Thank you Mr. Linderman for a great physical education program at Ursa Minor this year. Our girls loved going to PE this year and we never thought we would see that happen! Keep up the great work!  - Tina and Chris Grell, parents

Quyana to Julie Fabignon-Cross at Central Middle School! Mrs. Cross took time out of her lunch to help me and my friends when we didn't understand our Spanish or when we were not doing good in her class and let us make up our missed work. She made us feel as if we could go out and do anything we wanted and she always made her class fun! - Madison Johnson

Quyana to Robert Ritchey at Aurora Elementary! Robert has so much energy and excitement for technology at our school. He always is trying to incorporate and share his experience and knowledge with the students and staff. He is always willing to help with any technical difficulties anyone may have at our school. He is also very enthusiastic to help people gain technology access at home. Robert tries his best to keep his classroom families informed of different events and lessons that take place in his classroom by emailing weekly newsletters to his classroom families. If I ever have a question regarding technology, Robert is very prepared to answer my question. If he doesn't know the answer right away, he will make it his mission to find an answer. Thanks for your help this year! - Laura Harvey, teacher

Quyana to Help Desk Staff at Information Technology! Thanks to the Help Desk staff for upgrading my computer for me this month! All of you do so much to help us effectively use technology in our classrooms, and I know it must be quite overwhelming at times. I appreciate your help to get me going in the middle of the summer so that I'm all ready to go when school starts again. You guys and gals are AWESOME! - Melissa May-Pringle, teacher

Quyana to Staff at Muldoon Elementary! I would like to say THANK YOU to the entire staff for all they have done the three years that our son was at Muldoon Elementary. He enjoyed his years there and it was very obvious that all of the staff cares a great deal about all of their students and the community. Thank You!!! - Karrie R., parent

Quyana to Lana Bailey at Spring Hill Elementary School! Many thanks to Lana Bailey and her staff for being such gracious hosts over the summer for the Rabbit Creek Community Association Summer Fun Club Program. Our 'home' school, Rabbit Creek Elementary, was closed this summer for sprinkler installation, which meant big changes for our summer program and for the Spring Hill community. We thank you for providing us space to host our summer program! - Laurel Lloyd, community member

Quyana to Lisa Wiley at Gifted Mentorship Coordinator! Many thanks to the time, energy and excitement that Lisa puts into the mentorship program. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for my son to have had an opportunity to participate in a mentorship that has served to encourage his interests and further his education. - Laurel Lloyd, parent

Quyana to Vicki Smith and Lola Long at Human Resources Front Desk! I have received excellent customer service on every occasion while dropping off applications at the HR Department. I have always been greeted with a smile and a positive attitude. The staff is respectful in every way, with a positive and friendly attitude they graciously accepted my application and briefly explained job openings in a very professional and efficient manner. Vicki and Lola deserve kudos for a job well done! - Maureen Jerome, hopeful future employee

Quyana to Dan Merrigan at ASD Transportation! Dan has been extremely helpful with a request from Fort Richardson. He called back promptly, explained clearly, and was able to quickly forward me information needed.Thank you! - Heather Haan, community member

Quyana to Mara Gano and Jessica Ortiz at Scenic Park Elementary! I would like to thank Mrs. Gano and Ms. Ortiz for being such great teachers to my son, Taylor last school year. As we ready ourselves for the upcoming second grade, I can't help but hope that Taylor is lucky enough to have as great of an experience as he had in their class. Taylor jumped from being a non-reader to a magnificent reader thanks to the hard work of these two wonderful teachers! Thank you for all that you did for my son, as well as the other children in the class. - Kirsten McCart, parent

Quyana to Goldie Vacendak at Rabbit Creek Elementary! Administrative Assistant Goldie Vacendak at Rabbit Creek definitely goes out of her way to help people at the school. I recently drove there to assist with preparation for the upcoming year and unknowingly ran over a screw in the road. Someone noticed that my tire was going flat in the parking lot, and an announcement was made over the intercom to let me know. Even though it was raining, Goldie helped me change the tire. She showed me how to do it, step by step. I had heard from teachers that the school’s office staff was awesome, and now I know from experience that it’s true. - Anne Weaver, community member

Quyana to Georgette Yang, Marsha Shittu and Judy Demarsh at Scenic Park Elementary! Quyana to Ms. Georgette Yang for putting together a wonderful week of Chinese Summer Camp at Scenic Park Elementary in August. The little concert the participants presented at the end of the week was delightful and it was obvious they had enjoyed their week of learning the Chinese culture and language. It was very nice to see the older students being very comfortable in their Chinese readings and the younger students so enthusiastically demonstrating their Chinese vocabulary through songs and skits. As both a parent and volunteer, I was very pleased with the progress the children made in a short week. Special thanks also or xie xie, to Marsha Shittu and Judy Demarsh for their invaluable assistance during the week -- I am sure their fluency of the Chinese language was also very inspiring to the students. As my daughter enters kindergarten this school year, I look forward to a promising relationship with the Anchorage School District, and especially to Scenic Park Elementary, for their commitment to first-rate education opportunities supported by dedicated teachers and staff alike. - Lian L. Tan, parent

Quyana to Ron Saccomanno and the whole ASD Warehouse crew! Ron and the whole ASD Warehouse crew have been working incredibly hard to make deliveries as quickly as possible. Math Curriculum has had a huge amount of materials for delivery to middle and high schools. Ron and the crew have done everything they could to get materials to the respective schools just as quickly as they were able. The Math Curriculum Department would like to thank you for all that you have done for us. - Math Curriculum Department: Sandy Schoff, Patty Kennedy, Penny Williams, Mary Hoppas, Florence Daniel, Ann Ibele, Mary Murphy, Ruth Mount, Jessica Graziano, Denise Buchanan

Quyana to Greg Eschenlohr, German teacher at Service High! This exceptional teacher is better than the Rossetta stone program. I think Mr. Eschenlohr's likeable personality is what made my son want to earn his respect and pride.

This great teacher even went the extra mile and learned to read my son’s horrible handwriting.

I can take my son anywhere and if I want to tell him something I don't want to broadcast to anyone else I can speak to him in German and he responds appropriately.

Murray came up with the idea of one day a week we would only speak German. The whole house had to learn some German as a result or spend the day quiet. I was happy with either one. He loves being able to speak and not have just everyone know what he is saying. I have even heard him in our bird room teaching the parrots German words.

I hope Mr. Eschenlohhr will be his German II teacher since they have such a good relationship and I think he is just a wonderful teacher. He cares about his kids/students and they know it.

I could only be happier if I could give this zehr gut teacher a raise he so obviously deserves. - Sharon D. Webb, parent

Quyana to Alma Boyer at Ursa Minor Elementary! Thank you Mrs. Boyer! Chloe has had a great kindergarten year and we appreciate all your help teaching her and keeping us all in line! - Tina and Chris Grell, parents

Quyana to Mr. Hansen at Mirror Lake Middle School! We would like to thank Mr. Hansen at Mirror Lake Middle School. Mr. Hansen teaches 6th grade health and science. He provides very exciting, hands-on experiences for his students and sets high expectations for everyone. While helping his students to make a smooth transition from elementary to middle school by reinforcing independence, responsibility and organizational skills, Mr. Hansen does not hesitate to provide modifications when needed. He uses an individualized approach in his teaching, encouraging students to perform to their best potential and to love science. He genuinely cares about students’ success and immediately contacts parents if there is a concern. We greatly appreciate his accessibility, open communication, and wiliness to help his students beyond the call of duty. - Grateful parents, Anna Bondarenko, Jim Lanier

Quyana to Scenic Park Elementary, Wendler Middle School and Bartlett High School! Our daughter graduated in May from Bartlett High School. We want to thank the many teachers and staff of all the schools she attended who helped to make this day possible. She has been blessed with many wonderful teachers throughout her school days here in Anchorage.

Scenic Park was a wonderful place for her to start her school career. The staff there are all very positive and supportive of one another and the students. She had a wonderful Kindergarten teacher in Mrs. Schmitt. She had a wonderful reading teacher in Karen Williams, writing and math teacher with Heather Jipping and Becky Forsyth, as well as great long term substitutes in April Wiemer and Mrs. Hall. Patty Bowdan was so very kind and supportive in teaching our daughter to persevere through difficult situations and how to handle a bully problem.

Wendler allowed her to be more independent and try new things outside the academic arena. We were able to travel with a wonderful teacher, Gary Stein, to London. We learned so much on that trip from Mrs. Stein and our daughter grew a lot from that experience.

Bartlett has been a fantastic school for our child to attend. She has never had any problems walking those halls. Mr. Gallego has strived and we feel succeeded in making Bartlett a place that cares for its students and strives to challenge them to do their very best academically. Becca has had a great deal of positive examples with the Bartlett staff from her Student Government teacher Mr. Prince, to one of her science teachers Mr. Foss and Mrs. Hearn her French teacher who lead her on another successful trip to France. She also had a wonderful swim coach in Coach Maker. He not only insisted she give her best in the pool but also in her classes. He expected his team to show respect towards each other, the coaching staff, and their competition and we truly appreciated that. Thank you all for everything you do all year round to help the children of Anchorage. - Russell and Vonda Oswald, parents

Quyana to Jean Pollard, counselor at Hanshew Middle School! On Wed. May 13 we were presented with a wonderful assembly by four outstanding young adults. All third-hour electives, PE classes and Rigel and Capella teams attended. Our counselor Jean Pollard spearheaded this effort with the help from PE and some of elective teachers and deserves a public thank you. Jean, job well done. It was very apparent that Preston Pollard, Schanel Pollard, Bryson Andres and Andrea Rose enjoyed being here for the assembly. They even stayed in the MPR during both lunches. They had an assembly line set up in order to autograph cards for our students. Students were also excited to have pictures taken with all of them.

They each told their own story or showcased their talents as Bryson did when he played two outstanding violin pieces and Schanel shared her voice with us as she sang our national anthem. Preston, as a motivational speaker, shared his skateboarding dreams with us along with his video presentation. Andrea told us how she followed her dreams to travel abroad and how her career as a photographer has developed.

This wonderful assembly was repeated at several other schools this year and Preston plans to return with a similar team next year. It was an excellent motivational assembly geared to students.

Kudos Jean and presenters! - Cheryl Hembree, FCS Hanshew teacher

Quyana to Mrs. Myers at Central Middle School of Science! Mrs. Myers was so great with helping me and everyone else on the Central Varsity Volleyball Team. She always took the time to help each person! - Madison Johnson, 7th-grader

Quyana to Joshua Phares and Charles Hoff at Information Technology! Charles and Josh assisted me in my limited knowledge of configuring a new laptop, helped me save data correctly, answered my numerous questions, and checked to see if I understood the process. I was treated respectfully, and asked if I had any more questions I could be helped with before I left the ASD Help Desk with a new laptop configured to where I was comfortable in using it. Walking out the door of the Help Desk Office on Hillcrest Drive today, I felt like a valued client of a Forbes 500 Information Services firm. Charles and Josh's professionalism and expertise, over the phone and in person, lifted my spirits at a time when I needed outside help to solve a problem in order to be ready for a class the next day. The actions of Charles and Josh caused me to pause and reflect on whether my demeanor supports my students to feel at ease with their questions and to ask myself, "Is my behavior as calm and confident when my students are stressed with the unknown?" Quyana to you both! You made my day! Thank you from the heart!  - Lisa Zeuli, teacher, Rogers Park Elementary

Quyana to Chris Kleckner at Central Middle School of Science! Mr. Kleckner always made sure the students in his class came first. He was always there to give a helping hand. Mr. Kleckner made sure every class was different and fun. There was never a day in his class that he didn't listen to a child’s problems, he was always there for his students. - Madison Johnson, student

Quyana to Mary Kluis at CoHo! Mary is retiring and with less than two days left on the job she made it possible for several students to continue with summer school by setting up their programs. She is a role model for us all on how to retire with dignity and grace. She will be a huge loss to the students of Alaska but a great gain to the community that she chooses to reside in.

Thank you Mary for being such a positive human being and a great educator.
Have fun! - Ann Whitley, peer

Quyana to John Ornellas at Alaska State School for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing! Wow, it's been a long four/five years we've worked with John.

What can I say. There were some bumps, but they were few and far between.

I have enjoyed having John work with both my boys. I have found his insight into their school life to be invaluable.

Whenever I found it necessary to ask his opinion on something involving either an IEP issue or just ordinary teenage angst he always gave me a straight forward answer.

He was never afraid to tell me if he thought I was going in the wrong direction or pursuing the wrong angle on something involving the boys.

John, you are definitely an asset to the school for the deaf and they would benefit greatly by taking your advice and acting more on your recommendations.

You are definitely in tune with the kids and parents and provide us with great input.

Thank you for all your hard work over the years. Couldn't have done it without you. - Louise S. Klune, parent

Quyana to Jennifer Lewis, Service High math teacher! I am so glad my son, Murray, had a chance to have this exceptional teacher. He was always okay with math but now he loves it. No matter how much homework she dishes out he has never complained but just sat down and did it. As a parent I was impressed as she did give what I thought was a lot of homework. She got him farther than another math teacher was able to do by getting him to show his work not just the answer. She not only led the horse to water but got him to drink. I don't know how she did it as my son doesn't take being pushed very well but she somehow succeeded and he has gone where he has never gone before. I feel he now has a great base for the rest of his high school years. He thinks of math equations as more than just numbers and letters. He thinks they are puzzles to be solved and he likes puzzles. The only thing that would make me happier would be if I could give this great teacher a raise she obviously deserves. - Sharon D. Webb, parent

Quyana to Fay Voice at Alaska State School for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing! At times is seems as if Fay has always been a part of my son's life. She has been his personal aide for four years. Throughout that time my son has grown by leaps and bounds in his academic life as well as socialization skills. I feel that this is directly related to Fay working with him. She has come to know him on such a personal level that she knows what will work and interest him and what will not. It will seem strange next year to not have her showing up in the morning to "teach" my son.   Thank you Fay for all the time and effort you put in to making each learning experience an enjoyable one for my son.I certainly couldn't have done it without you. We will miss you. - Louise S. Klune, parent

Quyana to Robyn Rehmann at Creekside Park Elementary! It has been a great honor to work for Dr. Robyn Rehmann at Creekside Park Elementary this last year. She embodies all aspects of a great administrator. Her unwavering abilities to listen and meet the needs of each one of her students are truly amazing. She supports and motivates her staff to be focused on the motto of, “What is best for our children.” She tirelessly works to get parents actively engaged in the decision making process and has helped to develop one of the most successful PTAs in the district. I can speak for all of the staff at Creekside Park at saying Quyana or thank you. Everyone at Creekside and all others you have touched with your insight in education will miss your leadership as a principal. We wish you the best of luck in your retirement. - David Christal, teacher

Quyana to Sharon Mitchell at Chester Valley! I would like to send a grand quyana to my principal at Chester Valley, Mrs. Sharon Mitchell. I have worked with Mrs. Mitchell for the past 5 1/2 years. She has always been extremely helpful and supportive of me. She has taken time out of her schedule to listen to me, believed in me, and always made me feel accepted. Sharon has worked for years to get Chester Valley renovated and always finds a way to work with and be visible within our community. It is with great sadness that I must now say goodbye to her and wish her well on her next endeavor. We will miss you Sharon. - Mary Cordry, second grade teacher

Quyana to Amanda Finch at Homestead! Amanda has been a great teacher for our daughter Rochelle this year. I believe Amanda takes pride in what she does, has a great attitude, and really cares about teaching the students. Rochelle has really enjoyed being in Amanda’s class this year and it is always a treat to drop her off as she and her classmates look forward to their day. Amanda has done a good job of communicating with me, not only in person, but using ASD’s e-mail which is helpful to me. ASD is well served by having young teachers like Amanda on their staff. - Rick, parent

Quyana to Caela Nielsen at Ravenwood Elementary! Mrs. Nielsen is a tremendous physical education teacher and coach! Her enthusiasm boils over into her students’ lives beyond the gym. We cannot thank her enough for the encouragement she has given our kindergartener, especially in the Healthy Futures and after-school fitness programs. She truly is an example and advocate for life-long health and fitness. Thanks for getting our daughter off to a great start! - Tom & Colette Roth, parents

Quyana to Cheryl Bates at Ursa Minor Elementary! Thank you Mrs. Bates for being an AWESOME teacher this year. Caitlin has loved being in your class and we appreciate all the time, the loving attention and hands-on learning you gave the class in their lessons. And thanks for the pet worms. - Tina and Chris Grell, parents

Quyana to Melanie Bullock at Ursa Minor Elementary! Thank you Mrs. Bullock for a great year! And especially thank you for all your work at helping Chloe learn to control her temper and be responsible for herself. We've seen great progress and growth with her and she's had a lot of fun too! - Tina and Chris Grell, parents

Quyana to Bev Lewanski at Chugiak Elementary! Thanks so much for being such a great teacher for my son!  We really appreciate that you kept in touch regarding his progress and/or any problems that popped up. Each time I left a message or called you responded quickly. Also the reading help and tutoring truly made a difference. Although my son still has lots of work to get up to grade level, he's got a great start and loves being able to figure out new words for himself. Thanks again! - Lori Burroughs, parent

Quyana to Debi Burnett at Special Education Clerical - Gladys Wood! BIG thank you to Debi! She is the most wonderful, consistent, reliable, knowledgeable, and helpful IEP Clerical a team could ask for. Thanks to her, our department remains organized and efficient!
