Quyana to Mary Andrus at Mears Middle School office! I would like to say thank you to Mary Andrus for being so kind and welcoming to Mears Middle School. My daughter is starting 7th grade this fall and she is very excited, but nervous about this new step. I had questions for Mary that were somewhat trivial, but she went over and above what's expected of her to answer them. She is awesome!

Quyana to Peggy Rankin and Melissa Payne at ASD Human Resources! Both ladies have been so helpful in the school start up process for me, as a new principal. Any time I call they answer my questions with a smile in their voice! Their customer service goes above and beyond excellent! Thank you!

Quyana to these wonderful people for all the ways they support the talented staff at Benny Benson and the encouragement and direction they offer to each student. Quyana to Mace McFarland at Maintenance! Mace went out of his way to make sure that an extremely troublesome piece of equipment, which is vital to my classroom organization, got fixed in a timely manner. He was super pleasant even though the job was probably a huge pain! I'm so glad that there are awesome people like Mace to back up frazzled teachers! Thanks again Mace!
- Allison Polowy, teacher at Taku
Quyana to John Gaskins at Service High School! Principal Gaskins took the time, on a very busy first day of school, to show my ninth-grader ways to get around Service from G to D halls so that he would not be late for class. I appreciate the kindness and time shown to my son. It allowed for less stress on making it across the school and into class on time. Thanks!

Quyana to Derrick Bell at Warehouse! The Sand Lake Elementary School community would like to thank Derrick Bell and the warehouse staff for coming to our aid the day of our back to school picnic and the day before the Japanese Summer Festival. Although their schedule was full, Derrick drove a warehouse truck over, loaded surplus materials, and took them to the warehouse so that they would not be cluttering the multipurpose room or hallways for these two important community events. Thank you, Derrick!
- Lisa Huffman, principal
Quyana to Mustafa Ali at Fairview Elementary! I can't say enough to thank Mustafa Ali and the employees of Fairview and Williwaw elementary schools. During a difficult time Mustafa played a great role in our community kids through ASD. He was great helper I have deep appreciation for. He guided the student goal-setting and achievement. He also eliminated the cultural shock during our first time at school. He has a remarkable ability to remain patient with our kids and we appreciated his help during the school year. Keep doing the great job. Thank you Mustafa.

Quyana to all of the volunteers, community organizations and ASD employees who helped with the centralized enrollment opportunity. Hundreds of families took advantage of ASD services during this first-time event. It was amazing to see so much collaboration between many different people and departments. This event could not have happened without all who gave time, energy and input. Thank you!
- Christine Garbe, ELL supervisor and central enrollment event organizer
Quyana to the Zangle team from CIO for their assistance with the centralized enrollment event. Thank you specifically to Maria Hernandez, Nancy Arnold and Josh McLoughlin for making sure all of the technology and permission sets ran smoothly. Many families were pleased with the event and it was in part due to your behind-the-scenes work. Your help was much appreciated and you were amazing!
- Christine Garbe, ELL supervisor and centralized enrollment event organizer
Quyana to Robin Pfannstiel, principal at Abbott Loop Elementary! Mr. Pfannstiel makes an effort to know every student and parent who walks through the doors. He is respected by his staff and he creates a fair, but fun school environment. His students are aware of their high value and inappropriate behavior is quickly handled. Thank you Mr. Pfannstiel for being a gift to the Abbott Loop community!
- Rachel Faulkner, parent
Quyana to Christine Garbe at English Language Learners! Many thanks to Christine and her team of wonderful staff and helpers in pulling together centralized enrollment for new to district families. Their hard work and willingness to try something new has resulted in a family-friendly enrollment option that has overwhelmingly brought positive feedback from the families coming through to register. Thank you!
