Quyana to Julie Patotzka at Bayshore Elementary! At Bayshore Elementary's Open House, many students and parents were standing around Ms. Patotzka telling her of their child's admiration of her and her class. Her response to each of us was "I am so glad they love Math!"
Thank you Julie for what you have done for my child. She loves math, especially in your class. - Sharon Canadine, parent [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to Emily Blahous at Mirror Lake Middle School! Ms. Emily Blahous is one of the most dynamic educators in the ASD and her efforts in the areas of Music and the Arts are exceptional. She works tirelessly for students to expose them to music, dance, and theater. Ms. Blahous knows the value of the arts for students and has made Art, Theater, and Music something special for students and parents of Mirror Lake Middle School. As if all this wasn't enough, she does the daily school Video News, has pioneered the building of an FM Radio Station for the school (KAUG), and writes grants to support her activities. Mirror Lake is fortunate to have this matchless educator on staff. - Scott Batchelder, principal, MLMS
Quyana to Kelly Hall at Secondary Education! Kelly Hall is always upbeat volunteering to go the out of her way to assist a customer. I had a customer that was receiving mail about students, 3 from Dimond and 1 from Mears. Though I told him that he would have to call those schools to resolve the problem, Kelly was willing not to have the person go out of his way. She was willing to go out of her way to change the address and forward the information to the school.
It is cooperation of this magnitude through the district that makes a different in the lives touch.
Thanks - Anita Powell, CSR/Switchboard [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to Regina Sather at MLMS Counselor! Students and Staff of Mirror Lake Middle School are very fortunate to have a hard working, caring professional like Ms. Regina Sather working with and for them. Her efforts with the sixth grade students and staff have made for a very smooth start of the 2008, 09 school year. Her diligent efforts to make sure that students understand the school's and teachers' expectations give them a real boost for their studies this year. Sixth grade teachers are unanimous in their praise for her untiring efforts at organizing D.A.R.E. lessons from Officer Shackelford, assisting with notebook organization, spearheading the Zeroes Aren't Permitted (ZAP Program) effort at lunch, and other valuable activities too numerous to mention. She also advises sixth grade students on good choices and social, emotional learning tips throughout the day. Additionally, she does all this and more with her Seventh Grade Team.
Ms. Sather, you are one of a kind! Mirror Lake is a better place because of you. Thank you from all of us.
- Scott Batchelder, Principal of MLMS
Quyana to Maggie Skiba at Gruening Middle School! Maggie Skiba, our library aide does a bunch of behind-the-scenes work that keeps our school running smoothly. She adds a creative touch to everything she does and has a huge heart. Her kindness shows particularly this year as she regularly finds a special student in our building to walk to the bus every day after school. No one asked her or assigned her this job, but it makes such a big difference. Thank you, Maggie, for going the extra mile and doing it with a smile. - Vicky Otte, Teacher at Gruening [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to Margery Emde, Laura Allen, Jacqui Gorlick, Tony Brooks and the countless others who are so incredibly supportive at Nunaka Valley! These people have enabled and empowered my child to be successful at a neighborhood school. (He was recently at Mt. Iliamna). The Nunaka Valley team has done everything they can to embrace him and his challenges and have created an environment where he is continually learning to remain successful both academically and behaviorally. I salute and admire their dedication to all the Nunaka Valley students. - Shelly Williams, parent [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to Mrs. Julie Gorham and Mrs. Missy Timberlake at Eagle Academy Charter School! Mrs. Gorham has been working with my son since last year to help improve his reading and writing skills. This year, he is in a group that she is tutoring three afternoons a week.
Yesterday was my son's first session and he told me he enjoyed it and that it was fun. That spoke volumes to me, because tutoring requires staying after school for 40 minutes and it entails additional instruction, so for my son to say that it was fun indicates to me that not only is he learning, but that he's having fun doing so. And since he is having fun, then I believe he will thrive and continue to learn more and do better.
Mrs. Gorham truly cares about her students and that is evident by how well she treats them and by the gracious and kind interaction she has with their parents. I am grateful that Mrs. Gorham, and my son's core teacher, Mrs. Timberlake, care enough about their students to devote time after school to tutor those who need an additional boost.
Mrs. Timberlake also truly cares about her students and she wants what's best for them. Mrs. Timberlake communicates incredibly well to the student's parents; she is very responsive, kind and caring. I consider Mrs. Gorham and Mrs. Timberlake to be the "Dynamic Duo" of teaching since both of them care about giving my son a boost and assisting him further in his progress. I'm very appreciative of their time and help and my son is very fortunate to be under their tutelage.
I am grateful that EACS has this program in place and I thank the principal, Mrs. Mary Meade, for supporting a tutoring program. EACS is the BEST! - Barbara Ringland, parent
Quyana to Ms. Rita Boone and Ms. Tameka Shook at Fairview Elementary School! Ms. Rita Boone and Ms. Tameka Shook are two wonderful 5th grade teachers that could be relied upon for support. I'm new in the Everyday Math and Houghton Miffllin Programs. Since the very start of my time in these programs, I've been soliciting their advice on instructional matters including the materials. Both of them unselfishly supplied my needs. I feel very happy with the work I'm doing. I can't find the appropriate words to thank them for their invaluable assistance. Ms. Boone and Ms. Shook, may your tribe prosper. - Adelina San Ramon, co-teacher [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to Carey Bunker at East High School! I am a parent of a student at East High School, and was very impressed with Carey Bunker's efforts as a teacher. He has gone above the norm, and this mom appreciates it. I opened my email and received a progress report containing not only a composite grade, but also an account of each assignment and what my daughter received on the assignment. This opened up a dialogue between my daughter and me, and she also appreciated the effort as she was able to follow up on an assignment she thought she had completed. Thank you Carey Bunker for making life easier with information! It took you time to do this and I want to assure you that it was and is appreciated. - Martha Gould-Lehe, parent [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to Lisa Habben at Transportation! Lisa should be highly commended for the professional way in which she handled a stressful call concerning transportation on the morning of September 22. By the time I was finally able to speak with a real person - winding my way through automated answering machines - I was very upset. She calmly listened to me, even while I was extremely upset and frustrated, and then resolved the transportation problem as we spoke. ASD transportation is very lucky to have Lisa answering calls and helping frustrated parents. Thank you, Lisa! - Sylvia Biondich, parent [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to Larry Kittoe at ASD Maintenance! Larry Kittoe, aka "Mr. Larry," for his fabulous job as Susitna Elementary's BPO during the 2008/2009 school year. Larry got more accomplished in a day than Brett Favre did in 16 years with the Packers. I particularly remember the fall of 2008 when Larry was in front of the school with a garden hose cleaning up messes left behind by geese--he wanted to get it cleared up for students before they left for the day. Also, the day that he painted our principal's face yellow and green--it was... memorable. Thanks Larry, and good luck in your new position!

Thank you. - Josh Muehlenkamp, peer [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to J.R. Baldwin, an IGNITE teacher at North Star Elementary! Last year my daughter had the good fortune to be in J.R. Baldwin's 6th grade class at Rogers Park. Thanks to his efforts, she is well-prepared for, and is enjoying the organizational, social and academic demands of 7th grade. Now that he has moved on to the IGNITE program, more students will have the opportunity to "buy what he is selling". One thing is for sure, they won't be "sold short"! - Chris Tower Zafren, parent [Read more Quyanas]
Quyana to Claire Frederic and Ginger Jenkins at Chinook Elementary! During the past few weeks our school has experienced a tremendous influx of new students. This addition of little bodies adds a certain amount of anxiety, mixed with delight, at the meeting of our new students. Claire and Ginger are on the front line and greet our new families with tremendous respect, kindness and helpfulness. They keep calm and remain positive and in turn that passes along to the rest of our school community. It is a treat to have such competent, caring office staff and never a day passes that I'm not thankful for their work. - Cheryl Childers, colleague [Read more about Frederic and Jenkins]
Quyana to Elizabeth Dick and Mike Fenster/South Host Families at South Anchorage High School! I would like to thank Elizabeth Dick and Michael Fenster for making the 2008 GAPP exchange a wonderful experience for the American students and German students. Without their dedication and willingness to go the extra mile this would not have come off. It was a success all the way around. I would also like to thank the wonderful German teachers who chaperoned the trip.
Also, I would like to say Quyana to all of the Alaskan host families. Our true Alaskan spirit came through. These students will have Alaskan memories for life. - Nancy Neil, peer, parent
Quyana to Roger Nettlow at McLaughlin Secondary school! Mr. Nettlow is a positive role model for the students at this school. He inspires the students to follow their dreams. He is a huge asset for the school district. - Tim Boudreau, Community Member
Quyana to Roger Nettlow at McLaughlin School! I would like to say "Thanks" to Mr. Nettlow for the work that does with our McLaughlin students.
He is a wonderful classroom teacher. McLaughlin students enjoy his classes. He keeps them engaged and the makes the class exciting. His skillful use of technology in presenting his lessons is outstanding.
In the last two years that he has been a teacher at McLaughlin School, student construction skills, base math skills and career tech skills have greatly improved. McLaughlin students built picnic benches for the school and they are in the process of building a storage house to store equipment. Mr. Nettlow has really energized our career tech program.
So thank you Mr. Nettlow for taking our students' career tech skills to another level. - Catherine Jones, supervisor
Quyana to Roger Nettlow at McLaughlin secondary school! Mr. Nettlow is fair, firm, and consistent with his high-risk students. He provides a great learning environment and is passionate about the curriculum. It is my impression that Mr. Nettlow cares greatly about the success of his students and is willing to go the extra mile to assist in that success. - Cullen Harper, community member
Quyana to Lisa Lasordo-Santo at Mt. Iliamna school! Quyana to Lisa Lasordo-Santo and her aides for helping to build a sense of community in her classroom and our school. Each week her class plans school community service projects which teach her students a valuable lesson and provide our Mt. Iliamna school community with memorable moments of giving. Quyana, Lisa! You make Mt. I and the ASD a better place to be. - Sami Graham, counselor
Quyana to Emily Mullins at Service High School! This wonderful teacher had my son for math. He was premature and luckily for us all he suffered was fine motor skills impairment. Unluckily for Ms. Mullins it meant he cannot write in a manner able to be read; no matter what language you try.
This great teacher went the extra mile and would talk to my son to gauge what he knew AND to take the time to actually decipher some of his "writings". She made it possible for him to be graded on his knowledge instead of just writing him off (so to speak).
She had no reason other than wanting to be a good teacher to spend extra time on my son, so I would bet she treats ALL her students with this much concern, which in turns leads them into being better students and not just giving up because of a birth defect that makes writing hard/impossible.
I only hope and pray that all his teachers at Service High will be as great as Emily Mullins is. If it were within my powers I would give her a raise.
Thank you for hiring such wonderful teachers. - Sharon D. Webb, parent
Quyana to Karen Iris at Title I! Many people were able to enjoy the state literacy conference held in Girdwood last weekend thanks to the untiring efforts of Karen Iris. She organized an amazing 3-day retreat filled with opportunities to meet old friends and form new connections with members of our state and visiting authors from the Lower 48. Kudos to Karen Iris for energizing us and renewing our spirit through recognized authors, professors and publishers. - Lisa LoSordo-Santo, Special Education Teacher
Quyana to Karen Rakos at Campbell Elementary! It is two years too late, but I would like to recognize Karen Rakos of Campbell Elementary for her excellent work with my son Lewis, who at that time was in her first grade class. She sought out ways to meet the specific needs of each child in her class. She helped a little boy, my son, struggling with math and reading become a successful student in both areas with improved self esteem. He loved going to school every day! What a wonderful teacher she is! Quyana to Ms. Rakos! - Natalie Talbot, parent
Quyana to Mr. Santiago Macedo at Eagle Academy Charter School! Mr. Santiago Macedo does an exceptional job taking care of Eagle Academy Charter School students. This year is the first time I've dropped my son off at school in the morning. In the past, his caregiver, who recently moved, dropped him off. Now that I am taking my son to school, I've had the opportunity to see Mr. Macedo in action and he is fabulous! Whenever I pull up to the playground, he always greets me and my son in such a pleasant and courteous manner. Further, Mr. Macedo is conscientious and diligent about ensuring the children's safety and he is adept at simultaneously handling traffic flow and escorting children to the playground; he is very observant of his surroundings.
Most of us would agree that the way a person greets you can set the tone for your day. Fortunately for me, my day starts off very well whenever I pull up and we are greeted so warmly by Mr. Macedo. And what really caused me to think he's even more special than I already do, is he took a moment to say “hi” to Matthew's favorite teddy bear, who was riding along with us to school. That really touched me and made my day! Quyana to Mr. Macedo for being a special guardian angel for EACS students; my son and I appreciate him very much! - Barbara Ringland, parent
Quyana to Mrs. Robin Moffett at Chugiak High School! Quyana to Mrs. Robin Moffett, for being so gracious, courteous and kind in every interaction I have had with her. Mrs. Moffett is my daughter's counselor, and although she has many students to contend with, she still takes the time to address my concerns and she responds promptly to me, as well. Mrs. Moffett continuously offers her help and she states that on her Web site, too. It's comforting to parents to know their student's counselor is accessible, available and helpful. My daughter really likes Mrs. Moffett and feels comfortable around her, so that is an added bonus. Consequently, I wanted to write a Quyana on her behalf to show my appreciation for her time and help. - Barbara Ringland, parent
Quyana to Sandra Black at Mountain View and Tyson Elementary Schools! Health teacher Sandra Black has been a rock solid afterschool teacher year after year for Wonder Park’s 21st Century Afterschool Program! She cares for her students as if she was their regular school day teacher. She works very hard to ensure the success of each and every one of her students. Her class is always bustling with kiddos performing plays, singing songs, and learning how health can be fun! Sandra has a talent for spotting particular areas where our students struggle academically. She has been a great asset to our school by presenting enriching remedial activities to help bring our students up to grade level. Thanks for all you do Sandra! - Drew Hansen, 21st CCLC Coordinator
Quyana to Virginie Duverger at Robert Service High School! Madame Duverger is an excellent French teacher! She is creative, finds innovative ways to present French I and even fun ways to review before tests and the weekly quiz. I have been impressed that her tests test knowledge learned instead of guessing from true/false, multiple choice and using word banks. Students learn the information. She has high expectations for herself in how she presents and teaches an immersion with language and culture. Students are learning a foreign language with culture and information about the people and habits. We are so lucky she moved to Anchorage to join our community. - Kathy Miller, co-worker
Quyana to Erika Munoz at Lake Otis Elementary! Erika Munoz is our wonderful cafeteria manager here at Lake Otis. She always greets the students with a warm smile and a kind word. Erika is especially helpful when we have field trips, insuring that we have ordered cold lunches or have made other arrangements. She cares about the students here at Lake Otis, making sure they have lunch and do not go hungry. Erika gently reminds me when I have made a mistake, or when I fail to write the correct amount of students on the lunch envelope. Lunchtime is much more pleasant with Erika at our school! - John MacInnis, teacher
Quyana to Tim Akin at Kincaid Elementary! The entire Chinook running community would like to thank Mr. Akin and his volunteer assistants for hosting a Fall Fun Run on Oct. 4 at Kincaid Elementary. This event gave our Chinook runners another opportunity to engage in a fun, yet challenging run, at no cost! Quyana for all the extra time and effort this event required to be successful. - David Hall /Chinook Elem. P.E. Dept.
Quyana to Aquarian Charter School! I have two of the luckiest kids in this school district. Last week at Aquarian Charter School my 9-year-old son got to go curling as part of the school's exploration program. My 11-year-old got to learn all about the ins and outs of chess for the entire day. What a unique opportunity for my kids.
Aquarian is truly an amazing school. Not only do they have these creative explorations on a regular basis, they have an environment filled with joy, music, theatre, Spanish and art to help develop true lifelong learners and thinkers!
Many thanks to all the teachers at Aquarian for making my boys' learning experiences so rich! - Sara Peebles, parent
Quyana to Linda Anderson at Dimond High School! A Huge “thank-you” goes out to Linda Anderson at Dimond High school. Linda works in the main office right up in the front, answers phones, helps do the attendance, is there at Dimond every day at 6:30, and sometimes does not leave until late in the afternoon. You can always count on her to get the job done. She treats all of the students as if they were her kids. She puts a smile on my face every day and on many other faces too. Linda has come a very long way from the beginning of the school year when she was new to Dimond. She treats the other staff members around her with respect.
Thank you very much Linda. - Alexis Cobb, student
Quyana to All Charitable Giving Coordinators in the district at all schools/departments! Quyana to all the Charitable Giving Coordinators throughout the district. Each school/department has a coordinator who volunteers their time to hand out and collect pledge forms, plan luncheons, silent auctions, etc. With their help the district has once again gone over its goal. This year the goal was $325,000 and we pledged $333,690. Our community will be a much better place to live because of them and all of you who have donated. Thanks again, for another successful year! -Darlene Smith, ASD Charitable Giving Coordinator
Quyana to Danielle Riha at Alaska Native Cultural Charter School! Danielle is such a great teacher! She has created all of her lesson plans, put together a temporary classroom, maintained peace in her classroom and most importantly adjusted her lessons for the kids who needed it. She listens to her parents and solves the problems. Danielle truly loves her kids as if they were her own and would give them the shirt off her back if they needed.
For a teacher in a new school, having to start from scratch, Danielle has gone far beyond what was called for her. Thank you Danielle! - Elizabeth Hancock, parent and peer
Quyana to Kelly Schnese at Literacy Support! Kelly consulted closely with us in the planning and implementation of a Parent Academy on literacy. Her enthusiasm for this special project was contagious, and her expertise was invaluable. Kelly provided resources, prepared family literacy folders, and presented an outstanding program to parents at our school. We are so thankful for her guidance, support, leadership, and professionalism. Our school community is grateful to have her on our team. - Jahna Pollock and Cathy Miller, teachers
Quyana to counselors and Special Education Department Chair: Shelley Atkinson, Ghislaine Gillespie, Kelly Hoffmeyer, Liz Repetto, Megan Russell, and Adam Wartman at Begich Middle School! The counseling team handled all the details, logistics, accommodations, scheduling, and training for our new ACT/Explore assessment for 430 eighth grade students! They did this in addition to all the other daily responsibilities they have as counselors. Everyone on this team pitched in to prepare for testing. All this happened because of the energy, positive attitude and diligence of our counseling team. - Jeanne Fischer, principal

I wish her much joy and happiness in her retirement. - Melinda Osburn, Friend and peer
Quyana to Gretchen Nelson and Kristin Parsons at Denali Montessori! I am so thankful for the specialists who grace our building. This Quyana goes out to Gretchen Nelson, our librarian and Kristin Parsons, our art teacher. During the exciting election of our next national leader, Gretchen and Kristin collaborated on a project that focused on the histories of our American presidents. Students were learning what presidents do by studying what they are remembered for. There was opportunity for all students to express themselves expertly and creatively. Students made choices in their learning and strong students helped younger and less expert classmates. There was the learning and/or application of research and writing skills. Presidential caricatures were created and speaking skills were practiced as students shared their projects with each other. This is teaching at its best and a demonstration of best practice. - Diane M. Harps, teacher
Quyana to Ms. Sharon Story at Russian Jack Elementary School! Quyana to our principal for her dedication and leadership to help us grow our children in a positive environment at Russian Jack Elementary. Your involvement in the school's activities and participation in student field trips and events has been visible and I appreciate your interest and dedication in bringing quality experiences to our children. Quyana cakneq! - Eva O'Malley, parent
Quyana to Stephanie Cannon, Roberta Wonders, Bonnie Kragt, Amy Russell, Lisa Jackson, Mr. Don, Christina Mansfield, Sondra Burgess and Molly McManamin at Bowman! I would like to say Quyana to several people at Bowman Elementary School. I just found out about this form so some of these are overdue and more will likely be coming over the year. Bowman is really a fantastic school. The office staff and volunteers are always on top of everything, the custodians keep the school looking nice, and I always see so much being offered in promotion of school unity and health. The people listed below gave my children positive memorable experiences at school.
Stephanie Cannon - Quyana for keeping my older son interested in learning and bettering himself. We have noticed big changes in his attitude toward homework and wanting to work harder lately. Thank you for keeping education and extra school activities positive for him. We always look forward to talking to you. You have a fun personality and it reflects in the children.
Bonnie Kragt - Quyana for giving my daughter an excellent start to school last year. She had a wonderful kindergarten experience and still talks about you today. You have a gentle but firm demeanor that suited her great in her introduction to school. Thank you.
Roberta Wonders - Quyana for taking the time to really research what would be best for our younger son. It was refreshing to know that you were noticing the same things we were. The time and effort you put into making sure what was best for him was very much appreciated. He really benefited from it. Thank you.
Amy Russell - Your an incredible speech teacher, student council participant, and parking lot traffic director. We see you at all the school "movie nights" selling water for the benefit of student council. You do a great job keeping traffic safely flowing after school. But most importantly, thank you for giving our younger son the attention he needed to correct his speech issues. You are very obviously well educated in your field and relay it so well to children. Quyana for bringing about very significant changes in him.
Christina Mansfield - Not only another very productive traffic director, but a fantastic music teacher too. Quyana for really encouraging our kids to not just do good, but do great. Thank you for working with the kids prior to the Honor Choir auditions. I think you really calmed a lot of anxiety and built up self esteem. You are a great role model. We always see you politely guiding kids into following rules. Thank you also for keeping my children safe during the unexpected after school fire alarm that happened last year. Thank you for ensuring they got out safely. (Thanks to Mrs. Kragt, Ms. Cannon, and Mrs Wonders for reuniting us all when I didn't know where to look and was a little emotional over the unexpected event.)
Lisa Jackson and Nurse Kate - Quyana for dealing with all the aches, illnesses, and screenings throughout the years. Having children with asthma, we are very comforted to know you are there.
Mr. Don - Quyana for reacting fast last year when one of our kids was choking on a fruit snack at lunch time. Thank you for being there to save him.
Sondra Burgess and Molly McManamin - Mrs. Burgess Quyana for being such a positive influence and the Book Baggies. They have really promoted reading for all the kids in our home. Our daughter loves your class and never wants to miss a day. Ms. McManamin Quayana for challenging our younger son to do his best and for teaching, or having someone teach, sign language to the class. He is very proud to come home and show what he learned.
Thank you to Ms. Paulson, Ms. Lemery, Ms. Lee and all the volunteer staff that worked with the children in the after school running that took place a month or two ago. There were lots of children and they did a great job keeping them safe and running. - Krista Kelly, parent
Quyana to Erin Donohue, Cindy Trawicki, Mary Janis, Janet Rozema, Donna Williams, Heidi Martinson, Sandi Toth, Sonnet Farrell, Pat Odin, Colleen Stevens at various schools around the district -- all members of the Educational Excellence Joint Committee! On a recent Monday 11 members of the Educational Excellence Joint Committee, a collaborative effort between AEA and ASD, met in an all-day work session to discuss the Mentor Program. It was a great day of dreaming and refining how we support educators in our district. Our work isn't finished yet, but we established great common ground for making the Mentor Program the best it can be in the years to come.
Also a special thank you to Candy Groeneveld, TPD Administrative Assistant, for setting up our work session that day. - Anna Knapp, Induction and Mentor Program Specialist/EEJC
Quyana to The teaching and support staff at Alaska Native Cultural Charter School at Alaska Native Cultural Charter School! Quyana to all staff at Alaska Native Cultural Charter School for your dedication and resilience in light of all we've had to persevere. You are truly professional with care and concern in your hearts. Thanks you for making our students feel like they are part of a family and accepted for who they are. - Tim Godfrey, principal
Quyana to Mrs. Sutton at Mt. Spurr Elementary, health education! Mrs. Sutton has the challenge of teaching a 5/6 split class this year. My 6th-grader learned so much from her last year that we were thrilled to have her again. However, at the beginning of the year, the lessons were exact repeats of the lessons they had last year, while the 6th-graders in the non split class learned new information. After hearing my concern for the 6th-graders in the split class, Mrs. Sutton completely changed the way she taught the class to allow each grade to study their own curriculum. I know this took considerable time and effort. But the results are great. The 6th-graders in the split class are very happy with the arrangement and they are learning new things.
On top of that, Mrs. Sutton is a fantastic educator with a style of teaching that keeps the kids wanting more.
Thank you so much! I wish there were more teachers like her! - Karla Overturf, parent
Quyana to driver of bus No. 17 in the Bayshore/Southport area at Transportation?! A couple of weeks ago, bus No. 17 broke down before school at the busy intersection of Victor Road and 100th. As the first car in line after the breakdown, I got to watch the bus drivers do a really great job in what had to be a frustrating situation. I was really amazed at how smoothly the transition onto the replacement bus was accomplished -- the two bus drivers (sorry, I didn't get the number of the replacement bus) had the kids organized, had blocked off traffic safely, and made a very efficient transition from one bus to the other (and there were a few squirrely kids they had to keep redirecting). Great job, folks. - Krista Scott, parent/community member
Quyana to Roger Nettlow at McLaughlin Secondary School! Mr. Nettlow has been a valuable teacher here at MYC. He challenges our residents to think critically and outside the box.
