 Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, I moved to Alaska in 1992. I’ve been married for 18 years. My wife, Jennifer and I enjoy Alaska to its fullest. We camp, hike, fish, and raft many rivers nearly all summer long. Most recently we backpacked through the backcountry of Katmai National Park in Western Alaska. Fortunately every bear that we encountered exhibited appropriate bear behavior and left us well alone in favor of the many salmon in nearby rivers! I have enjoyed teaching and coaching (volleyball and track) at Clark Middle School for the past 12 years, and am looking forward to starting new programs at the new Nicholas J. Begich Middle School.
