My name is Jimmie Petrash, and I have been an Alaskan since 1991. I moved here from a farming community in Texas with my wife, Denise, and I have taught Social Studies, Science, and Math in the ASD since 1994. I am the proud father of three small children – Joshua, Mary Alice, and John-John. At home, you can find me working in my gardens, reading a history book, researching on the computer, or wrestling with my kids. I love the great Alaskan outdoors no matter what season it is! In the winter, you will find me on the cross-country ski trails or backcountry, and in the summer I'll be fishing, climbing a local peak, or orienteering. I am truly EXCITED about teaching at Begich MS this year, and I can’t wait to meet you! Come on by and say “Hi”.
