 I am … Gramma to Jada and Everest…mom to Jeremy, Ewelina, Amanda, Marko, and Tyson… daughter of Carolyn and Terry…granddaughter of Leonard, who helped build the highway to Alaska in 1940 due to World War II…granddaughter to Susie who is the sharpest business woman I know and hardly knew the inside of a school house helping her mom in the fields picking cotton during the Dustbowl in Oklahoma…Alaskan born…teacher of 17 years…I have taught and been taught by students in Hawaii, Alaska, Las Vegas, and Washington from 4th – 7th grade…remembering good times like feeling the warmth of a volcano flow beneath my feet as I hike over old lava flows…the sweet smell of the tundra…walking in a rainforest…watching the colors of a desert sunset…hunting moose with my uncle…playing from 3,500-2,000 ft altitude while skydiving over Girdwood…watching the white cliffs of Dover while traveling to Paris being reminded of how our country is influenced and influences the world as I passed the cemetery of Jim Morrison and on to the narrow streets of Florence and to the famous ceilings of the Sistine…lover of good books and sometimes bad ones, too…lover of musicals, recently cried through Man of La Mancha, oh, if we could see the world a little more like him…delighting in the laughter of my grandchildren.
