Proposition 1 - Funds improvements to 40 schools plus districtwide relocatable upgrades

  • Mirror Lake fire alarm upgrades
    Replace original fire alarm system installed in 1996. Existing system is functional but not supported by manufacturer and parts are becoming obsolete. System beginning to have significant number of repairs. $500,000
  • Mirror Lake Applied Technology Lab
    Increase the size of space by integrating Rooms 328 & 329. Adapt layout and add an exterior doorway to support larger projects. Add dust collection system & provide exhaust system in fabrication area. Fenced work yard adjacent to the Technology Lab. $900,000

Propositions 9, 10 and 11 were developed with the support of the Capital Request Advisory Committee (made up of parents, students and a good cross section of community members), the Anchorage School Board and the Anchorage Assembly. Proposition 9 funds repair and major maintenance projects at most schools districtwide. Proposition 9 passed April 1, 2003.
