My name is Robert Bane and I consider myself a lifelong science learner. I grew up watching my father, a marine biologist, lecturing to his university
students. We spent our vacations collecting "specimens," which often
included road kills. Dissecting fish and frogs were eagerly anticipated
family activities, not squeamish science experiments. Now my mission is to
assist others to develop their own love of science and learn how to apply
scientific methods to other areas of their lives. For the past eight years I
taught at Creekside Park Elementary School here in Anchorage and science was
always my favorite subject to teach. I am married to a speech pathologist, have two children and I suspect my daughter might be a future scientist because she seems to have acquired my love of science. I am looking forward to teaching science at the middle school level and wearing my new tie dye
lab coat!
