 Hi! My name is Michelle Parcels and I moved to Anchorage from Texas a year ago. I am originally from Oklahoma, but my family has moved around quite a bit and with my husband in the Army, I have easily adopted the slogan “home is where the heart is.” Alaska is a beautiful state and I now know why everyone loves it so much. In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, our Great Pyranees dog, Sugar, and taking pictures of Alaska.
I have taught for nine years and I have enjoyed every minute of them. Through those years I have discovered many new ways of thinking, learning and sharing from everyone around me. In my classroom I encourage students to embrace their differences and learn from them. Each person has many qualities to offer those around them and it is often those very qualities that enhance the learning process. I am very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the community at Begich Middle School. I look forward to meeting everyone and learning with you.
