Rental fees

Rental fees are based on the type of group using the facility, function, type of facility used and time of use. Consult the chart below for specific rate information.

Rental policies

Documentation required

All groups are required to provide a current Certificate of Liability Insurance in the amount of $1 million, naming the Anchorage School District as "additional insured."


To qualify as Category III Nonprofit Youth or Category IV Nonprofit Adult organization, the following documentation must have on file in the Rentals office:

  • IRS letter indicating exemption from federal taxes
  • Current Board of Directors: name, address, phone number

 

Schedule of rental operational charges

  • Any part of an hour is billed as one hour.
  • Fees are assessed for EACH Space Type:
    • Use of one to five classrooms =  one fee
    • Use of six to 10 classrooms = two fees
    • Use of more than 10 classrooms = three fees
    • Use of both Gym and MPR in one elementary = two fees
  • Holiday fees are double the weekend/Sunday fees.
    • (Exception: Category VI Commercial, as noted)
  • Fees for Auditorium/Auditeria usage on Fridays are calculated at the weekend rate.
  • Rates for Auditorium/Auditeria usage include a school board-approved equipment replacement fee (surcharge) in the amount of 5 percent.

 

Change policy — changes requested by permit holder

Changes to active permits are subject to the following fees:

  • First change - no charge
  • Additional changes - $10 each

Cancellation policy

If a permit is canceled by the permit holder, refunds will be issued as follows:

Refunds will not be issued for amounts less than $10

 

Auditoriums / Auditerias

The following items are required for public events in an auditorium or auditeria:

  • Security/Damage Deposit and detailed security plan received two weeks prior to event
  • Detailed auditorium technical rider received two to four weeks prior to event

 

Fee review

Fees will be reviewed annually.
