Bayshore Elementary is located in a subdivision in the southwestern section of Anchorage. Our school draws from the Bayshore, Southport, Olympic and Campbell Lake area.

Bayshore Elementary opened its doors in 1976. Our first principal was Don Judd. One of the teachers who opened the school in that year presently teaches fifth grade at Bayshore. Ten years ago an addition was built and this provided our school with a computer lab. We also added five kindergarten classrooms, a resource class, a gymnasium, and a music room. The playground has been moved several times since 1976 and it is presently located in front of the building with new climbing bars and tunnels.
Three years ago, almost 200 of our students moved to Kincaid Elementary School, which lowered our population to approximately 500 students. Since then, we have grown again to almost 600 students. We have a total of twenty three classes from grades K to 6. Support staff consists of a gym teacher, 2 special education resource teachers, an art teacher, bilingual teacher, speech specialist, music teacher and librarian.
