ASD Policies

MyHigh establishes high expectations for student success. To support student success and maintain instructional progress, students are required to submit assignments in their course on a weekly basis and to maintain regular contact with their instructors.

Student Agreement: Students are expected to agree to the following as part of the registration process.
I acknowledge that during the first 20 school days(4 weeks) of being activated in a MyHigh course I may drop the course without penalty. I understand that for each online course there are a minimum number of assignments that must be completed each week. Failure to submit the minimum number of assignments on a weekly basis may result in my removal from the course and may result in a failing grade being assigned to my academic transcript. If I drop the course after the drop deadline, I understand that I may receive a withdraw (W/F) failing grade on my transcript.

Student Code of Conduct
Internet access is required for all MyHigh students. Internet access must be used in a responsible, safe, efficient, ethical, and legal manner. Access to electronic information may result in the availability of inappropriate material. Although it is impossible to control such misuses, with responsible use, the benefits of the Internet as an educational tool outweigh the negatives. Partnering with parents to teach responsible Internet use is a valuable learning opportunity for our students.

Please review the following netiquette rules and MyHigh expectations carefully:

Harassment and Cyber bullying
Harassment and Cyber bullying will not be tolerated and shall result in disciplinary action.

Harassment: Harassment is a single act or course of conduct directed toward an individual or group of people that serves no legitimate purpose other than to annoy, intimidate, frighten, alarm, torment, or abuse that person or group.
(ASD Student Handbook; Section III-2)

Cyber bullying: An act of cyber bullying is prohibited and will result in disciplinary action. Cyber bullying encompasses any of the already prohibited actions – such as bullying, discrimination, or harassment – accomplished through electronic means.
“Electronic means” include, but are not limited to, information and communication technologies such as e-mail, voice mail, cell phone and pager text messages, instant messaging (IM), personal Web sites, Weblogs, and online personal polling Web sites.
Examples of cyber bullying include:

The District will discipline a student the district determines has engaged in cyber bullying that takes place on school grounds, at any school-sponsored activity, on school-provided transportation or at any official school bus stop, through the use of the District Internet system or on any District equipment, or at any time off-campus if the cyber bullying causes or threatens to cause a sub-
stantial and material disruption at school or interference with a student’s education or security. (ASD Student Handbook; Section III-3)

Any action by a student or parent deemed inappropriate will be fully investigated by the MyHigh school administrator.
Consequences for student actions that violate this policy shall be determined
by the MyHigh administrator and could result in removal from the course.
