Tim Godfrey

Upon graduation from high school, I entered the US Army and served for seven years. During my time in the Army, I lived in many different countries that include: Germany, Korea, and Honduras. I also served in combat during Desert Storm.

After exiting the Army in 1992, I began my college education trek. I first attained an AA in History at Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, CO. I then attended the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo, CO where I completed a BS in Social Science with a minor in Education. Next, I attended Florida State University where I completed an MS in Special Education with a focus on learning disabilities and emotional handicaps. I received my K12 Principal certification through the University of Alaska-Anchorage. I have eleven plus years of teaching and four years of administration duties.

My wife is an Air Force nurse and has been serving for over 21 years. We have two boys ages 7 and 10.

Kindergarten: Amanda Berger

My name is Amanda Berger and I have lived in Alaska all of my life. I was born in Nome, Alaska and I have lived in wonderful places such as Tok, Wasilla, Palmer, and Fairbanks. I have a big family of three brothers and one sister. My husband works as a civilian in the Air Force. I have been working the last six years as a Kindergarten teacher for the Anchorage School District. Prior to teaching Kindergarten, I taught at Clark Middle School for a couple of years. I look to this wonderful experience and getting to know our future students and families!

Grade Combo:
Mary Ellen Lambert

My name is Maryellen Lambert, and I was born in rural Connecticut, of British Isles and Dutch descent. My family moved to a small village (population 19) in eastern Canada when I was 16. I earned a B.A. at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, and returned to the United States in 1980. After that, I taught youth swimming and lifesaving; field studies in biology to elementary groups; and daily living skills to youth with multiple impairments at Perkins School for the Blind. I moved to Alaska in August, 1983. After a 12-year career in newsroom management at the Anchorage Daily News, I resigned my position and attended Alaska Pacific University, where I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching degree. During the degree work I had practicums at elementary and middle schools, and a one-week practicum at New Stuyahok, AK with a mixed classroom of middle and secondary grades. I also served as a substitute teacher with the Anchorage School District during the degree years. In December 2005, I finished my M.A.T. and was hired as a fourth grade teacher at Klatt Elementary. I taught third grade for the following two school years at Klatt. I am very pleased to have been chosen to teach at the new Alaska Native Cultural Charter School this year. I have a deep and abiding lifelong love of Native American cultures, and am very thankful to all the people whose hard work and dedication have called this school into being. I will do my best to continue the work and the joy of providing culturally and individually appropriate education to our students.
