HUGSS and Coats for Kids is looking for donations of new or gently used coats with working zippers. Please consider donating your gently worn coat. Last year, over 5000 kids were better prepared for school through this project. The donation box is located in the main office. Thanks for your support Bartlett

Prom is a FORMAL dance which requires a long or evening dress for females and a suit or tuxedo for males. The Dress Standards are as follows:

Male students must wear a suit or tuxedo which includes a dress shirt (button up), tie, slacks (no denim), and dress shoes. Female students must wear an evening style long dress with dress shoes. The dress must be of an appropriate length and not show the midrift, lower back, or undergarments. No skirts, pants, slacks, or casual shoes.

No Flip Flops
No tennis style shoes
No combat Boots
No dog Chains/Studs
No Ball Caps/Beanies

The theme is Moonlight Masquerade. Students may bring a small half-mask, which may cover the eyes only. The mask may be carried on a stick, not worn continually.

New to Bartlett or lost your student ID card and need it to attend prom?? ID will be made during lunch every day this week. For new students the first ID is free of charge and for replacements the cost is $5.00.

Student government is now accepting applications for individuals who would like to be an active participant of student government. If you are interested in student government next year and you are a positive individual with good communication skills and has a cumulative GPA of a 2.5 then please stop by Mrs. Carey’s dance room and pick up an application.

Step into Spring!! The shoe decorating contest in now in full swing! If you need a shoe to decorate stop by the library to pick one up. A variety of prizes will be given to the winning shoes -- gift cards, kites, books, and more. Student my enter their decorated shoes through April 30th. Judging will begin the following school day. All Bartlett students, grades 9 through 12 are eligible to enter this contest in honor of National Poetry Month.

Attention Seniors: All Senior library materials are due on April 22nd. Senior library fines will be created on April 23rd. Seniors who need items beyond the due date may speak with Mrs. Martens if they need materials for special projects due after the 22nd. They must pay all outstanding school fines before they may receive their diploma.

Are you interested in spending two weeks in China this summer? 2010 Confucius Institute Summer Camp to China is looking for students. You don't need to be taking Chinese classes to qualify. All expenses in China are covered. You only need to pay an international round trip air ticket from Anchorage to Beijing. If you are interested, please come to Room 416 A, Ms. Wang’s classroom, at lunch for more information.

There will be an “Apprenticeship Fair” Monday (April 19) for all juniors and seniors that are interested. During 3rd time block (period 5) you MUST check in with your teacher for attendance before going to the Theatre. You should be seated in the theatre no later than 11:20. Once the briefings are completed, you will go to Green cafeteria to explore various opportunities such as: Electricians, Plumbers, Teamsters, Cement Masons, Roofers, Carpenters, Operating Engineers, etc. All students will return to their 4th time block (6th period) at least 15 minutes before the bell to have their attendance submitted by their 6th period teachers. Keep in mind, your teachers for periods 5 and 6 MUST agree that you can afford to miss their class. Coordinate with them AHEAD OF TIME!

School is coming to an end and your school fines need to be cleared up. Seniors remember NO DIPLOMA if you have a fine. A list of students with fines is posted outside the stock clerk’s office by grade. Please stop by, check the list, and then take care of your fines.

Looking for some stress relief and a great evening of live theater? Plan now to attend our spring play called CLASS ACTION next week. The show runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m for just $5. It's a play about high school life - we have a great cast and crew, and we want an audience to enjoy this wonderful show - comedy, drama, lots of interesting characters. Hey Bartlett, Did you know that Bartlett students are having their own ART SHOW in Mountain View? That's right! Our art work is being shown in the "MTS Gallery" on Mountain View Drive just past the McDonalds Restaurant. It begins with an opening reception on Friday after school, from 4:00 - 5:30. Come by and bring a friend. If you have any questions see Ms. Selin in the Art Room.
